A Lockheed "Rounder"

Well, I think I have finally gotten all the Harpoon panel gauges, switches, warning lights, etc in place and ready for testing. :dizzy:

Now to see what if anything I have overlooked in the cockpit that is meaningful enough to add, aside from panel textures and text in all the right places. :)

That looks awesome, Milton! I'm looking forward to take my seat behind the panel and fly away! :applause::applause:

Cheers,

Civilian Harpoon Updates

For anyone who downloaded the Civilian Harpoon version pv2cwip.zip recently released, here are some updates:

http://www.sim-outhouse.net/downloads/SOHTeam/pv2cwipupdt.zip

These updates are NOT compatible with any other WIP Harpoon I have released due to model and panel changes.

The updates are replacements for the Model and Panel folders, 2 texture updates, and the aircraft.cfg.

If you have made changes to your aircraft.cfg, protect them with a backup or rename before replacing.

These changes will be propagated to the other military models this weekend but that requires some time.

The changes are mainly to the VC with added electrical panel switches, added warning gauges, additional panel display areas and gauges, corrected knob colors on the ECU, corrected animations, etc.

Still much to do with panel textures and text on all the panel surfaces, but it fills most of the gauge voids.

Hi Milton,
I had altered the aircraft cfg :

[Radios]
// Radio Type= availiable, standby frequency, has glide slope
Audio.1 = 1
Com.1 = 1, 0
Com.2 = 1, 0
Nav.1 = 1, 0, 1 ------and added in 'standby frequency'-----here
Nav.2 = 1, 0, 0 -----and a 'glide slope'------- here --------
Adf.1 = 1
Adf.2 = 1
Transponder.1 = 1
Marker.1 = 1

---and it was that what froze the Nav section. Odd, as I'm fairly certain that I have altered other cfgs' and things have still worked. Luckily I'm not flying a real aircraft: everything now is working as it should , thank you!

Andy.

Hmmm, that's interesting because this is what I show for the Harpoon and the Lodestar cfgs:

[Radios] // availiable, standby frequency, has glide slope
Audio.1 = 1
Com.1 = 1, 1
Com.2 = 1, 1
Nav.1 = 1, 1, 1
Nav.2 = 1, 1, 0
Adf.1 = 1
Transponder.1 = 1
Marker.1 = 1

I am not showing an adf2 in the Harpoon as there isn't one.

Hi,
I'm wondering if I've caused the problem with the radio....I'm putting up an image and show you, but I'm going to check later if it's this combination causing the trouble :dizzy:

and from the panel cfg to show the gauges:

1.gauge00=VC810!Avionics, 0,0,756,252

2.gauge00=HS7!Autopilot_SEP2, 0,0,

attachment.php

I had that all working nicely but on approach had a bsod which has not happened before, and I want to check that out first...to make sure I'm not causing the/a conflict as the glide slope came live or something.

Andy.

Later...
All seems good now, ILS capture, glide slope etc and I managed my usual perfect landing 300 yds short of the runway, so whatever it was caused the blackout, it wasn't anything to do with the model or FS9. I think maybe the computer got too hot!

A.

Here's what I've been using for a 2d panel in the cargo Harpoon. The VC is very similar, but needs some tweaking on gauge placement. Although I do need to install the latest update first. Mostly a combination of gauges from various projects of Milton's (A-26, Beech 18, Spartan) along with a few from other sources and a few that I've taken some liberties with.

For your civilian Harpoon version only, a vc02 panel folder texture update that adds temporary text to the electrical panel on the left wall.

Might help those of you who do not use Tooltips, or painters who wish to label the panel appropriately.

Scrape Points

Hi Milton

I've altered the scrape points to cope with any wheels-up landings. I prefer to land on the rubbery bits, but you never know when someone may need these.

//Notes - Contact points 9 and 10 are required for the drop tank
//Notes - Steerable tail wheel - Replace contact point 0 with this one:

Lockheed PV-2 Harpoon 2D panel

Hallo Milton,

with your last release of the PV-2c I had a relook on my panel I once did for the Harpoon.
I have collected some interesting docs and photos.
So I ask my self: should I do rework it to match your plane and to come as close as possible to your VC?
I have tried to relocate the compass from the top to the middle of the windscreenstrut.
I used a lot of gauges comming from other designers.
If you would be interested I will try as most as possible to integrate the same gauges you used in the VC.
The reason -I want a little bit contribute to your so fine work.
So the question is clear - are you interested that I do for you the Harpoons 2D panel?
The background basis will be the one I still have published here for the tanker but with some improvements.
There are still done the main cockpit, a radio post and the radar operators section.

Happy landings
Yours
Michael "Papi" Vader

Papi,

Ideally, you would use our provided gauges but that is your choice. I always use gauges from my team-developed inventory or MS default unless there is no other possibility. I have, on special occasions, used (with permissions) other designers' gauges but I prefer not to do that if it is avoidable.

My plan for a 2D panel is to make it from the VC view once we have the VC panel textures completed. This keeps the look and theme of the 2D panel the same as the VC.

However, I have no problem with you proceeding with your ideas. It would likely be better than mine :) and it gives people options from which to choose. Thank you

Lodestar textures

I have done a few textures for the lodestar and am now waiting for someone to create a proper paint kit. Milton did mention that it may take some time as everyone who can do so is busy with other projects. He also asked if I was going to share them as is and although I would not normally do so I am considering it, especially as this is project is a WIP. Would there be any interest in these WIP textures?

Hi Andre,

Oh yes, I would be very interested indeed! The Lodestar has just been waiting for your craftmanship. She looks awesome in this livery.

Cheers,
Maarten
