A Lockheed "Rounder"

I now have the Harpoon Fire Tanker converted and looking good. I am having trouble getting the retardant drop code to work properly however, Nothing simple anymore. :)

Everyone involved in this project has done outstanding work on the Harpoon. I have thoroughly enjoyed following this thread, the progress on the different models... watching the ol' "Poon" come to this point. She's a beauty! :encouragement: Kudos to you all. :applause:

PS -- Hey Nigel... don't be a stranger, mate!

Cool! I'm out of town at the moment but looking forward to flying the Harpoon in the SW Pacific event that starts Saturday.

Also have a couple of paints waiting to see how they fit up on the latest models.

Oooooooops!

Dang! I'm in trouble! :banghead:

Well, I have invested 7 hours trying to get this work correctly, ... and it does. However, I have some sort of conflict with the process looping and slowing everything down.

I need fresh eyes on this. Any gauge/xml gurus out there with xml macro understanding?

This involves several XML gauges, the model, makemdl.parts.xml, the panel (2 windows plus the gauge), and the aircraft.cfg setup required to support it all.

I have eliminated the model, the makmdl.parts.xml, the gauges required to make this work (as the function itself works, just very delayed and slow), all the other gauges in the panel.cfg (tested with nothing but the retardant drop works but still have the conflict), and looked over the aircraft.cfg and compared it to other working aircraft (F7F and S2T), and can see nothing wrong. :-/ Anyone want to have a look?

This is slowing down the full beta release.

HEY! I've done that before... with a Lodestar. I just hit the I key whilst sitting on the ramp waiting for push back. Coated everyone around with a layer of the sticky orange stuff.

Sorry, Milton, I couldn't resist. Wish I had an answer about the XML issue, but when I saw the screenshot, I got a chuckle out of it.

Meeting with DangerousDave on Teamspeak to discuss the issue. Maybe we can get it resolved. :)

EDIT: Problem resolved. Issue was 2D panel bmp was a high definition bmp at 1920 x 1080 and apparently was stepping on code or confusing the dump code process; no obvious reason in the code but resizing to 1536 resolved the issue.

So, I'll get that fixed tonight and work on a full beta Harpoon release Thursday.

Thanks to Dave for helping sort through the code and ultimately identifying the issue.

I did a quick test in FSX to see how the Tanker looked and generally things look very nice. One issue I can see that should be a quick fix.

Okay, I'm in. A few tweaks and I'll be uploading this tonight. Prewar and Canadian Pacific schemes to come.

I am uploading the Harpoon full package today. The FSX Only port over version has been uploaded; the FS9 version is next.

After that, I will upload the tankers later today or Saturday.

EDIT: FS9 package now uploaded

I remember when you rolled this bad boy out of the hangar the very first time, Milton. The model was an overall dark grey and the red lights were on inside the cockpit which gave the Harpoon a sinister, ghostlike, somewhat "evil" look... lol! Matt Wynn, Nigel and myself all made comments, and chuckled about it.

An amazing journey for this plane. From its early grey texture less appearance, to what the finished product looks like now. You all have done a magnificent job so the ouzo's on me, :very_drunk:(courtesy of Nigel and Matt, of course). She's in the "build hangar" as we speak... and a big THANKS for your work.

Ah yes Tom; I barely recall that. I did not include Matt's original texture as there are a couple of changes that need to be made due to mapping differences now. I have PM'd Matt and maybe he will make those changes for the Harpoon and the Tanker.

I have the Tankers ready for upload but waiting to see if I can get Matt's fixes done first.

The attached Harpoon templates are for Matt Wynn should he show up here to make necessary changes to his paints.
