Must have been between 1816 and 1871 then, the only time Speyer was part of Bavaria and thus had a king. Interesting, I suspect he was one of the 1849 revolutionaries. Alas, in those days they didn't execute dissenters anymore, it was more like prison or exile. A lot of Germans emigrated to America after the failed '49 revolution.Bavaria is where my ancestors lived. Philip Schirmer. His house in Speyer, is now the Tourist Information Center......
Somewhat of a revolutionary, you might say. The King at the time gave him a choice of either losing his head, or leaving the country. Luckily for me, he chose the latter!

There is a control panel that lets you adjust the size of the map, and below that it says "display map on your site" So I clicked that and it had some code which I cut and pasted, and it just showed up!me too how did ya do it?
