• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

PERFORMANCE TEST OF ROLAND D-VI-B WITH BENZ ENGINE
Official Performance Test - Summary of Results
....
It is very difficult to keep the engine from overheating at low altitudes. Even in
moderate weather it is impossible to fly with the upper-engine cowling in place. In
addition, there are no radiator shutters, making it difficult to keep the engine warm on a
glide.

And the cooling liquid was not Glycol. The boiling liquid escaped by the valve situated over the wing and watered abundantly the face of the pilot.
Distinguishing feature of the German planes equipped with engine with cooling by liquid and with radiators situated in the wing.
German had no equivalent engines in power in the allied engines, in particular French, which they copied to equip Fokker in radial engines. To overcome this lack of power they looked for aerodynamic solutions, of whom in particular the radiator placed in the wing, what brought the inconveniences about which we speak.

Wonderful plane beercan.

Yesterday I was showing it off to people at our North West UK Flight Sim Group meeting near Manchester and everyone agreed that it was wonderfully modelled.
It is absolutely beautifully done and something to be really proud of.
Many congratulations on your achievement and thanks for sharing with us.
