I have installed Rick Piper’s Vickers Viking for a down-island run. I have the aircraft’s sound aliased to (Bristol) Hercules sounds & upgrade. The upgrade adds a few files, in particular STARTUP and SHUTDOWN wavs. The sound.CFG has STARTUP and SHUTDOWN sections and the requisite WAV files are present (most). However, in FS the a/c exhibits neither startup nor shutdown sounds. But if I alias it to some other sound folder with startup and shutdown sounds, everything is A-OK.

I have analyzed the sound.cfg to the limit of my ability. It is time to seek professional advice.

Where can I download the sound pack that you are using from? I can fix it easier with the package on hand so I can see what is what in sim.

If you want to zip up the package and e-mail it to me, that will work as well. Will send you a PM with my e-mail address.

Tried to send ya a PM Hawkeye....but my darn internet connection is so slow that it is messing up the function of the site. I need to rebuild my system from scratch...must have a bug hiding out someplace that my anti-virus has not been able to find. Will get online tomorrow on my wife's laptop.....though it will be a day or three before I have my system rebuilt and ready to roll again.
 
Obio, it consists of two files available at Flightsim - hercsnd and brshrcug.

Hawkeye, can I suggest asking this question over at CBFSIM, you are more likelt to catch Rick himself over there & there are others involved with his projects who may be able to assist as well.
 
Obio -- let me know when you are ready and I'll e-mail the zip files to you.
