  • IMPORTANT INFORMATION - ALL MEMBERS PLEASE READ

    Due to an increase in the number of new members who are trying to systematically download our entire Resource Library (one new member yesterday tried to download 3,000+ files AT ONCE!) we are being forced to implement some changes regarding who can download what, how many files at a time and at what speed. As the forums and Resource Library share the same bandwidth when the Library gets overloaded with demand like that the forums fall over, as we have all seen recently. It's sad that greed has forced our hand in this way but we must do something for the benefit of all our legitimate members (many of whom paid money for the upkeep of the site) and to prevent the files stored here being used for nefarious purposes. Many of our uploads have specific conditions tied to them that forbid uploading to any other site or deny uploading to any site that has a 'paywall' (i.e. a pay to download policy). Due to the number of mass download attempts recently we can only assume that somebody, somewhere, is attempting to stock up a new file library with our files and we owe it to our up-loaders to protect their files and intellectual property especially as many (like my own LDR Development projects) are made available at SOH only and are specified as such in the 'read me' files.

    The forums and Resource Library will be taken offline as of 13:00 EDT with the forums coming back online shortly after without the resources library while we work on setting up permissions on the new Library module.

    We hope our members understand why we need to do this and will bear with us while we implement the changes.

A2A AND Flysimware Lancair Legacy!

I'm shocked there's no mention of these two companies doing the beautiful Lancair Legacy yet!

FSW had announced first via discord but plot twist was that A2A is also doing one lol!

A2A will do the normally aspirated version that Scott owns.

FSW will do that along with some glass and analog versions, including a turbocharged version and Reno Racer versions down the road. FSW is working directly with the owner of N321TF (interesting story about the owners who both worked for NASA - just google the tail number for info).

Basically it's the best of both worlds... more variants with probably slightly less flight model/systems for FSW and the usual in depth right down to individual cylinders with the A2A!

That's a beautiful and fast (my kind of aircraft) airplane. I think it was Orbx who produced one in the past. I remember owning it. I like the A2A analog cockpit.

I'm ABSOLUTELY going to get the A2A Legacy when it releases. Like John, I like things that go FAST...(both in real life and in the sim!).

Be interesting to see what happens with the two most high-end developers creating versions of the same plane, particularly when people over on the official MSFS forums have been whining that A2A chose a "niche" airplane.

I'll definitely be going A2A. I'd want Garmin avionics in a real plane, but in the sim having two dozen Garmin planes with identical avionics is boring. And FSW's pricing is so insanely P3D-level high that I don't even consider their stuff unless it's on sale. (I don't own the FS2024 version of the Lear because the upgrade price is more than I paid for almost all of my brand new planes.)

But I thought FSW would only model the glass cockpit variant ? Did I misunderstand ?

Oooh, cool! It’ll be interesting to see how the timing goes. FSW planes are among the best that use stock MSFS systems, but Accusim is soooo good. I have to think I’ll still end up going A2A.

I bought the fantastic Black Square Bonanza/Baron bundle, as BS is the other member of the “top 3” GA creators, and they are wonderful. But I keep coming back to the Aerostar and Comanche because A2A just does everything a notch better than everyone.
