About to buy payware A/C - opinions

not to forget the Freeware Sea Furies (with Nigels Sounds.... whoa boy.....!)

Merlin Warbirds... hmm.... there's the JustFlight Mosquito(es), Just Flight Lancaster, A2A/Shockwave Wings of Power Spitfire, Just Flight Spitfire, Freeware Aeroplane Heaven Hurricane... quite a plethora... each has it's own merits and down sides, but thankfully with the choice it's 'horses for courses' your own tastes...

P-51 fun fact; It was conceived, designed and built by North American Aviation (NAA), under the direction of lead engineer Edgar Schmued, in response to a specification issued directly to NAA by the British Purchasing Commission; the prototype NA-73X airframe was rolled out on 9 September 1940, albeit without an engine, 102 days after the contract was signed and first flew on 26 October. the name Mustang was originally a British nickname for the aircraft also :)

Is the payware P51B still available for fs9? That would fill a gap in my hangar too.

Wozza's D version freeware is a firm favourite, likewise Alphas T6.

Pulled the trigger on the MAAM Turkey today. Went for the CD version so it'll be a few days before I see it.

It's a warbird, bomber, Navy and a carrier aircraft. What's not to like?

I'll tack something on to the trivia in Matt's post - I believe Edgar Schmued had an association with Willy Messerschmitt, may even have worked briefly for him at one time. Schmued was born in Germany and became a naturalized American citizen prior to the war.

If you're going to buy something from MAAM, be advised that they're moving pretty slowly right now. When I called today and asked about a confirmation of my order for the TBM, I was told to give it a few days because of Hurricane Sandy.
