What is it with Americans and painting their jets in fictional liveries? Come on, everybody knows their military schemes are much nicer. :d

Hey I know this plane intimately! We did a full cockpit refurb on it last year. Then he had a tail/engine bay fire on it and we had to put a different tail on it. This may be a rare photo now as he no longer has the playboy bunny on it as far as I know. They wouldn't let him use the image anymore. This plane is suppose to be one of the lead planes in the American Top Gun reality show if it ever comes out. This would be very cool to have as a skin.

That's a sweet paint scheme!

Here's another that would look good in fsx

What is the possibility of having someone do this paint scheme? One of our customers owns it and he lives in Austrailia but the plane stays here in Alabama, at least for now since he is still training on it. He is going to get a new high end PC and FSX and of course Mikes L-39 so he can do simulated training, for lack of a better term, while he is down under. I thought it would be neat if I could get his own airplane in the sim for him. Unfortunatley I am not much on doing paint schemes.

I've got one thing to say..... you guys are doing some fantastic repaints.

keep eem coming.

Now just to get FSX to load faster, it looks like I've got to do a second install dedicated to the L-39 and a very few others.

Looks like Mike's LotusSim Albatros is going to be one of the biggest hits of the year. Mike... you did good. :applause:

Define fictional.
Except the ones who are still in the active service , all military schemes are fictional I would say , since they have civilian registration. At least their are pretty original each. Interesting I can not find any infos or web photos of this " Marines" L-39 that i personaly took pictures off, in such a manner to be used as future photo texture. Unreal how many L-39 ended up in private hands.

Define fictional.

I'm talking about the real aircraft, rather than the FS repaints. Anything that wasn't a scheme that was worn when it was in service.

Just my opinion that they always (or at least usually) look better in their original military colour schemes. And it does seem to be the USA that leads the world in customised liveries... not sure why!

Maybe the simple logic would be that we have a gazillion more private ones here , then anywhere else. They should be entitled to paint the quarter million+ dollars purchase as a pink chinese SU27 if they please. Sry it was such an eyesore that you had to point it out just after i posted those last shots ,but I will sure take your observation in consideration ,no more fictional stuff to keep your distress level induced by US artistic sense , to a minimum.

You know it wasn't meant to be a dig at your paints. I just brought it up as it was the first time I'd seen a lot of these N registered liveries, that's all. ;)

I know..but you tied up a nation with your frustration.I dont dig that part.Let,s stop it now.

yup ceasefire, Tweek does it matter how they paint their aircraft? my point being the red arrows are the display team of the RAF not part of the RAF in essence, pilots are military, hawks military, paint scheme designed by Babcock Defence Services (the addition of the logotype)... all in all the paint on a red arrow is not military but civilian... this in your books it'd class as fictional :icon_lol: anyways now its a ceasefire we can focus on how good these textures are and we can even talk about personal schemes being applied sort of 'if you owned one, how would it look?' :kilroy:

Brilliant paints. You're doing works of art in notime. Do you actually fly the plane too from time to time? :icon_lol:

Besides, can they be downloaded somehwere already?

Edit: Marines really used czech trainers???

I fly,when I try a paint on..that,s why it takes a bit longer.My FSX starts pretty slow.:icon_lol:

About downloads, since I made them so quick,i need a bit of time away from those paints so I can look at them with "new eyes " . It,s when I find flaws and make correction.Maybe this week-end I,ll have something up.

Marines and L-39,s.Why not.

Tpet, thx for the link,Tweek it, a very easy model to repaint, the paint kit it,s fantastic.Spray some paint on the base layer and the kit will do the rest..Lotus ,thanks again and again.

Bob Lutz owns that L-39 ? How awesome is that !
I,ll shut up now..

Never really cared about the L-39 much I'm surprised who wide spread it is these days. It even made it to Afghanistan...

And there are a lot of nice paint schemes around. Looking forward to the wonderful paints in the making. Great work!

By the way, is there a way to cure the DXT-compression-issue with the red racer? It seems like FSX switches to a lower res mip very often displaying a lower res (512 or 256) res texture. And paints with red/black combinations are very prone to ugly compression artifacts - just like blue/yellow. The camo schemes look perfect, on the racer and the Breitling one you can spot compression squares easily.

About marines and L-39 I just wondered because they could have chosen something ... more NATO like the HAWK or AlphaJet. One the one hand it's nice to see that ex "communist" planes are used now but on the other hand it still looks strange to my eyes. I couldn't get my head around the USAF using the Mig-29 for example.
