AH working on C-46 Commando

Should keep the re-painters very busy for quite some time.

I'm already looking at my currently in progress C-46 paints (and others I intend to start) for the old CalClassic one and thinking, "Do I want to finish these or wait for Baz & the boys to release theirs?"

Great news from Ah!!! :ernaehrung004:
Can I ask for this repaint?

Welp, looks like between this, the new C-47 Manfred and his guys put out, and the C-119 when it's out of beta (hopefully soon), I'll be spoiled for choice when it comes to twin engine prop cargo aircraft!
:applause:

Finally! Instant purchase! Honestly, I hope you make well deserved $$ on this one. It was up for.grabs for a long time and those that chose to make high wing cessna after high wing cessna had their chance. Good choice! Great choice! Perfect choice! All success to your team!

Just one request...can the speculars be mapped per part like the diffuse is, instead of a generic exterior texture for everything?

Can't wait! Again, good for you for picking this one up...a true classic and completely neglected aircraft in FS.

Not that I jave anything against high wing cessnas...im actually looking very much forward to Joseph's 170...with anticipation actually. Probably the coolest addon for GA sincell realair turbine duke....IMO.

I'm just super excited about this C46!!!

I probably share your sediment exactly. I think anyone who has watch the Ice Pilots series is going to be quite interested in the C-46. And Also Flight Replica's DC-4, for that matter.

They are really putting out some models in timely fashion.

Yes exactly. I've Been watching it recently on Netflix and really hoped that someone woukd take it on. That's the reason I'm requesting the specs be mapped and not just a generic one. You can't make believable aluminum without custom specs....

Oh boy, my poor wallet just doesn't get a chance to recoup these last few months.

But this is another "must have.." for me.

2017 is great for us classic prop lovers. I'm in a constant state of ultimate excitement :redfire:

Mark and Tom were able to see this magnificent aircraft at Oshkosh 2016. My first ever in person. This beauty is massive next to the C-47. From the preview pictures, the detail looks fantastic. Count me in.

I too was in awe of "The TINKER BELLE" at Oshkosh last summer. What a Magnificent beast she is! I really hope they consider her for one of the release paint schemes.

Well stated Sir :)

Yup, a definite buy. :jump:

OMG!! Consider this as a guarantee that you'll have my money! This is a long-awaited dream. Thanks AH!

Amen to that! And you can do some pretty neat stuff with the painted bits as well. I'm all about the specs.

Tinker Belle

The C-46 Tinker Belle makes a yearly appearance at the Mid Atlantic Air Museum. It would be nice to have a paint of it. For the past two years a WWII Parachute Demonstration Team (can't remember the team's official name) did drops. Something to see. So of course it follows to have a parachutist effect.

On another note, the P-61 that they pulled off Mount Cyclops near Hollandia is nearing completion. Last year it was up on three wheels, engines and props, tail booms and empanage, radome in place. Needs wings and I don't know about the interior. Can't wait to see it fly.

Here is a link to the restoration page:http://www.maam.org/p61/p61_rest.htm

I will have to look through my pictures from last year and see if I can find a shot of what they have done so far.

Joe
