AI Flight Planner...how to use it to create new flight plan?

Three files are required for each flightplan/flightplan set. You need:

  1. The aircraft you're using,
  2. The position information of the required airports/waypoints,
  3. The required aircraft movement information (the flightplan itself).

AIFP uses the three files originally used in ttools, with minimal differences, in exactly the same formats. I've found that the ttools documentation is quicker to read than AIFP.
If you have ttools, you can find a detailed description of each of the three files, together with their required formats and the information required in each.
If you don't have it, then you'll need to download it and read the documentation thoroughly. Sorry, but there are no shortcuts for this -- not if you want to understand how it all works.

Based on what I read from link ^ I could edit any of the three txt files and, say for instance, substitute a different AC or edit the airport and input the IATA code for a different or,
change times or frequency and schedule of arrivals/departures. Prior to my knowledge of this, I was wondering format/data enty for these files starting from scratch. Looks like I
could just export these three files and season to taste (so to speak).

When Traffic Tools decompiles the traffic.bgl, it creates three .txt files -
aircraft.txt , airports.txt and flightplans.txt . Any of the files can be altered, then compiled to create a new traffic.bgl. The Tcompiler.exe function will find significant omissions and stop compiling.
