Three files are required for each flightplan/flightplan set. You need:
AIFP uses the three files originally used in ttools, with minimal differences, in exactly the same formats. I've found that the ttools documentation is quicker to read than AIFP.
If you have ttools, you can find a detailed description of each of the three files, together with their required formats and the information required in each.
If you don't have it, then you'll need to download it and read the documentation thoroughly. Sorry, but there are no shortcuts for this -- not if you want to understand how it all works.
You can download this at flightsim.com - called ttool202.zip
Happy reading.

- The aircraft you're using,
- The position information of the required airports/waypoints,
- The required aircraft movement information (the flightplan itself).
