AI high approach

Fellas, I need your help.

My Alpha India Grp. An-124 approaches from a point twice as high as other AI aircraft, touches down beyond the half-way point and slips off the end.

All other AI a/c (tube-liners, military, regional turboprops, GA) land normally using the stnd 3-degree approach. The Antonov appears to be on a 6-degree glidepath. There is no ILS on the rwy in question.

I have not been able to relate anything in the CFG or AIR files to a glidepath or aiming point, nor in the airport AFCAD.

I'm stumped; I've run out of options. I'd appreciate your suggestions. :isadizzy:

If this is an AI only aircraft, I'd use the flight model from one of similar performance that acts right. Just keep the contact points the same.

Guys, there is something I didn't say in my orig posting because I wanted to keep it simple.

The AI An-124 WAS LANDING PERFECTLY WELL until I installed Nick's Jet Smoke. I immediately undid the Nick's install, but have not been able to regain normalcy in landing. So I don't believe it's a matter of substituting anything from another a/c.

Here is another piece of the puzzle:

There are 2 parallel runways -- one has ILS, the other does not.

The An-124 does a perfect 3-degree approach on the one with the ILS; it does a HIGH 6-degree approach on the other, touches down 'way past the midpoint and runs off the end.

WHAT is going on here, and how do I fix it?

Who knew...

I guess I stumped everyone else, as well. So I reverted to the technique which has become standard for dealing with "computer mysteries" -- I re-installed. Now my Antonov lands properly -- most of the time. Every now-and-then it lands about 5 miles short, but determinedly marches through hills, dales and mountains, reaches the runway and taxies to its spot on the cargo ramp, as though nothing had happened. :icon_lol:

I once calculated that there are 149 things to get wrong when setting up an AI aircraft.
It's one of the reasons I enjoy AI so much - it can do the darndest things if you get just one of them slightly wrong :d
