Alabeo`s Staggerwing is out!

Lol yeah, I can safely change my 'bogey' rating to a 'par'...its worth the 20 bucks now :applause::icon29:

I did a simple re-registration paint here, ZK-STG. I'll get it uploaded in a day or two.

I still can't get it to start when cold and still having problems getting the MP and RPM settings realistically? Am I doing something wrong?

Cheers,

Martin

Lol thanks Bill, looking forward to having your F-24 sharing a hangar with this Stag. Q'pla!:salute:

ZK-STG has been submitted to here and Avsim for upload.

I really like this old airplane. But the elevator trim is driving me crazy... or rather the lack of it. I know of the problem of "up is down" and "down is up". I guess I could live with that. But there is so little elevator trim as to be ineffective. I am using the mechanical trim on my joystick, but this is not a good way to trim...no fine tuning the trim for smooth flight. Is there any way to fix this in the aircraft.cfg?

?? The 'up is down' and 'down is up' is not a 'problem', it's the same on almost every airplane with a fixed horizontal stabilizer and apart from the animation you don't notice it at all.
Trim is certainly not ineffective, even at 250mph there's still a lot of nose down trim available.
But if it's not working for you simply double the trim effectiveness in the cfg file
elevator_trim_effectiveness =1.0

How could I miss so obvious a fix....good thing I don't try flying real airplanes. Thanks for the help.

OK, so maybe it has a few glitches, but my, does it look great

Ever sin ce the first book on aviation I ever bought (by James Gilbert, a loooong time ago) I have an interest in the Staggerwing, and this just fills the gap nicely.

Maybe I am just not picky enough!! But this airplane is as sweet as anything in my hangar. :jump:

Nothing picky about it. This is one nice airplane. I have always liked the unique design of the Staggerwing. And as all previous Alebeo offerings, they have nicely replicated the Staggerwing.

If I purchase the Stagger Wing today will all of the updates be installed in the downloaded file? Or will I have to go back and make the various .cfg changes?

Thanks,

Tom

In addition, in the aircraft.cfg file under "Aircraft Geometry". look for the "Elevator_trim_limit = whatever" line.

If you want TRIM, bump it up to 20-25.

I don't have this model so I don't know what Alabeo gave you. But I have bumped up the trim on a lot of the models I do have.

elevator_trim_limit increases the available trim range which only makes sense if you run out of trim on the low and/or high speed range.
elevator_trim_effectiveness increases trim response over the whole trim range.

Sorry for bumping an old thread but I can't seem to find a current discussion on this aircraft anywhere.
Anyone know how to work the fuel transfer switches? I have no idea which positions of the switches relate to the quantities in the FSX fuel menu. (?)
Thanx for any help. :)
