Alabeo`s Staggerwing is out!

Stan; On the "My Account" page, you will see your serial number, right after that you will see "UPDATE". click that and you should get the update sent to your e-mail address.

Rudyjo - I went to My Account, I saw my serial number, I clicked on the word "UPDATE" as suggested. I then received another page showing all the Alabeo updates to the products that I had obtained from them INCLUDING THE STAGGERWING. That page had two columns, the rightmost of which was captioned EMAIL WITH LINK. I clicked on the entry for the Staggerwing in that column and after 20 minutes, I am still waiting for something to appear in my inbox. Do you think I am a victim of a slow internet email response because of volume?

Stan; When I clicked "UPDATE", I got the usual message... do you want to open this or save it. I clicked save and the download was done in a few seconds.
I would try again, it is possible that their servers got overloaded.

I installed the service pack, and from just the looks, most things appeared to be fixed. Nav lights, prop blade fixed, carb heat and generator switches added. Mag switch now actually linked to mag (m) command. However I have a new problem lol. The starter does not work anymore, neither does hitting m++ or ctrl-e(start up sounds but prop doesn't spin or rpm spool up), and yes the aircraft is prepped for start. Switching to another airplane with the same conditions starts up fine. Switching back to the Stag from another running airplane seems to work. Anyway, went on a test flight. Mag switch is fixed. Prop sounds fixed and it flies fine.

I reinstalled the patch just to be sure there wasn't a glitch during the install process with no luck. Does anyone else have starter issues in the Stag?

If it weren't for this starter issue, I would change my initial 'golfer's rating' from Bogey to Par. Hopefully this will get addressed.

Just for ducks, I am going to attempt to reinstall of the Staggerwing + patch and see if that does it.

On a side note, the Carb air temp gauge still seems goofy. I don't know if the gauge is functioning properly. I took the plane to death valley which had an OAT of 37C. The carb air temp read about the same (on tool tips) with a cold engine off as it should. To me it seems like the scale of the gauge is way off. The bottom end of of the scale is 32C, rather warm I would think. It is usually a good thing to know if your carb air temp is getting low while at altitude. This could be the actual design of the gauge. Who knows.

Cheers

TJ, I confirm - same thing. No start. From the [piston engine] section of aircraft.cfg, I changed normalized_starter_torque= 0.3 //Starter torque factor to 1.0. No change.

Set starter torque to 20, everything works now.
Took awhile to get things straightened out, but well worth the trouble, it is really a nice plane at an excellent price.

Thanks. I was on the right idea just didn't know how far I could take it. :applause:

Yep, that fixed it.

Thanks Bernt,

I was feeling pretty stupid but I'm back in love with my Staggerwing baby again.

good flights, Cal

Downloaded update
Starter torque 20-works great!

Elevator trim tabs are still reversed....
I will send a note to them
Rick

??? Even on the default 172 it works the same way since ever. When the trimtab moves down, it pushes the elevator up....

Forgive my ignorance , but do you change this entry , " normalized_starter_torque= 0.3 //Starter torque " to 20.0 or 0.20 ?

the starter torque 20.0 setting has been changed in the websites download now as well..i just now downloaded it and checked..6-13-13 3:48pm PST

Alabeo - nice job on the fixes....thanks for the starter torque cure, bstolle
