Albatross!! Albatross!!!

Quick Info - Tanker 19 and pivate N1771T uploaded here and at flightsim.com :wavey: Dirk

BTW.: jymp - i use gimp and paint for my repaints, nothing special :icon_lol:.

Hi,
i have trim-problem with the Albatross.
It´s nearly impossible to trim this bird.
Every few minutes she goes up or down on its own.
What`s wrong there?
Michael

Could be lots of causes, different weather, change in airspeed, co pilot going for a nap in the back? ;) I think I read somewhere that the real Albatross also was a handful to fly and trim?

Hey kaputnix - if you want, you can tweak the aircraft.cfg a little bit to make her trim a bit easier and faster. Save your original first ! Now change the following lines :

elevator_trim_effectiveness= 1.50
aileron_trim_effectiveness= 1.50
rudder_trim_effectiveness= 1.50

under the flight-tuning section.

It is also important to reduce rpm to level her out.

Hey guys,

Still working on the prop reverse. I am able to get the props to reverse but currently unless the pilot fines the prop before idling the throttles the engines stall. I should be able to work out that issue.

I found a reduction in idle_rpm_friction_scalar helped to avoid an engine stall at higher elevations (like 3500 ft. or so). Mine now reads:

idle_rpm_friction_scalar= 0.7 //was 1

Not sure, of course, if this is related to your stall??

I've noticed the trim problem also, with trim set to 0 and full throttle she wants to nose over and dive, is this correct, did the real a/c fly this way ?

Thanks for the tips.
Tried it and changed the cfg:----but nothing.
Without touching anything in the cockpit,the Albatross is trimmed
and sudenly she starts cimbing or descending.
Also when flaps are fully set to land,she suddenly climbed and i have one stall
after the other.
Never had such an issue by all my other airplanes.
That makes no joy.
What to do?
Michael

Love the paints so far.. Been working on one myself ( though calling me a painter is almost an insult to those that are ) for those of us who want something other than military.. Found the plane at airliners.net and couldnt resist ( even though idont normally do brand names ) If anyone likes it, i'll be happy to find some way to upload it.. The pic is un retouched so what you see is what you get. it aint great.. But maybe not too shabby either

OK.. I'll try and upload it then. I'll even upload the PSDs in case someone knows how to fix the inaccuracies.. :)

Two more for the Weekend-Flights. One more private owned and an converted Sub-Hunter, now used as Research-Aircraft. I do my best to add a lot of small details to the repaints and hope you`ll like them.

Greetings :wavey: Dirk
