AlphaSim FS9 Phantom packs now freeware

Great news! I have wanted a Phantom, but did not have money to spend for payware. Now I can enjoy these great planes. Great generosity!

Any nice JASDF paints are available? :wiggle:

Some at 'mumbo echo' here ---> http://mumbo-e.s139.xrea.com/fs_repainters_repaint_texture/fs_repainters_repaint_texture.html;

and 'Akira' used to have some on his site before he closed it; think I might have them on cd still... I'm away at the moment but I'll have a rummage around
when I get back home next week.

Just thought I'd check SOH in my last period study hall at school today. Wow. What a great end, to a great day, on a Friday of all days.

Winner.

Great idea for some good Luftwaffe schemes. I need to get over there and see what they've got. I liked watching Luftwaffe Phantoms over Jever and the Friesian Islands in North Germany several years ago. The pack does contain a late service livery for JG 71 "Richthofen that is nice, but I think that I'd like to fly a Cold War scheme.

Here is the JG 71 Phantom just out to sea north of Wilhelmshaven.

Thank you Phil and crew at Virtavia. :salute: Having got this d/l and with NAZCA Steve working on the US B-57's, I think now is a good time to finally get off my butt and set up a new FS9 install. Only a few hundred megs left on the old 40-gig HD.

Had the Pack 2 for years, but it's good to have the other two packs now too! Found a few great paints over at Flightsim and Avsim to add:

I've got the Alcock & Brown and Luftwaffe Tiger Meet paints. Where can I locate the other four?

The Blue Angel paint was done by John Detrick, I think it came from Flightsim.com. The 'Bicentennial' and the German 'Red Devil' paint are from Pierre Lheureux and can be found at Avsim.com, as can the last one ('The Saint') by Gus Robatto.

BTW there's a very nice Spanish RF-4 by Antonio Diaz at Flightsim too, but I forgot to make a screenshot of that one!

I've just downloaded the Alcock & Brown repaint but find it needs model 10.
Any ideas where to get it?

William

Many thanks to Virtavia for doing this. I worked the F-4 for about 5 years until we transitioned to the F-16. They were big, noisy, smelly, a heck of a lot of work and I enjoyed every second of those five years, lol.

Can't say much about their "Advanced Installer" though. It wanted to install into a location other than where my FS9 was installed, so I browsed to the correct location and hit "next". It installed ok, right where it wanted to the first time and not where I told it my FS9 was located. . .:salute:

Agreed, I worked on them from 86-90; although ours had RR Spey engines sqeezed in them;
XV424 (aka Alcock and Brown's) was one of ours.... it now resides in the RAF Museum, Hendon,
London.

If anyone comes across a livery(s) for the 301stFW/457thFS, let me know. We had F-4(C,D,E) until early 1991 and I'd love to find someone who has done one from that era.:salute:

Same here.
I'm particulary fond of the more colourful "Norm 72" scheme, and I think it will be RF-4E 35+62 of AG 52 (= "Aufklaerungsgeschwader" / reconnaissance squadron). This Rhino is now stored at the Airforce museum at Berlin-Gatow, found an awesome image here:

Just bought some books as reference material: Isn't amazon a great invention?
Very much looking forward doing this paint job!

Cheers,
Markus.

Model 10 (FGR2 (Early) Phantom II) was one of the bonus models included in the paint kit for Pack 3. Also included were two different RF-4B's; one with the early recon nose type and one with the more smoothed type.

You can get the paint kit here: http://www.easyfly.co.nz/Freeware/index.php?dir=/Paint Kits
