An-2 Colt

stoney

SOH-CM-2023
I found this really nice An-2 By DrStalker80, Igan, Kazachok, Gleb, Andrucio. over at https://www.avsimsu.com/f/fs2004-originalnie-samoleti-40?page=2 It has a a wonderful 2D and VC panels and some nice skins as well.
BUT... I can NOT get this engine to start or stay running. I tried my tried and true method of increasing normal_starter_torque= to at least 0.6 or more. Didn't work. All instruments in Russian, so no help there.
Has anyone figured this out? If so please let me know.

I for me, tend to use the Model from Wladimir Zhyhulskyi. Which is as good, as the one by Ricardo Garcia (DrStalker80).
But that’s just my opinion.

There’s an engine stop lever there. By default, it’s in the stop position. If you don’t move it up, it won’t start. And yes, you need to follow the procedure as outlined in the manual. I’ll try to explain it later.

The ZH model is good. Especially the seaplane.
But the drstalker model is much more interesting. At first, it’s difficult, especially if you don’t know Russian, but then it’s a real pleasure.
I’m writing from my phone; I’ll tell you more when I get to my PC.

A short instruction for quickly launching the An-2 model from drstalker80.

1. This aircraft loads only in cold and dark mode and does not save in flight.
To launch it, you need to activate (open) ALL 2D panels immediately after loading. This is necessary for the correct work of the VC.

In VC or 2D, turn on all electrical switches (1) and don’t forget to move the engine stop lever to the upper position (2).
N218.jpg

Set the throttle lever to 20%. Open the fuel valve (3) and the pneumatic system (4). Press the fuel pump (5) 4–6 times and press the primer (6) 4–6 times. Move the start switch (7) to the upper position. Press the starter (8) to the upper position and hold for 20 seconds. Then quickly move it to the lower position (start). This may not work on the first or even the second attempt.
But at this point (not earlier) You can already start the engine using the default key combination. ))))))))
If it didn’t work, it means you forgot to do something.

Now it is necessary to adjust the operation of the artificial horizon and compasses (9). And other standard procedures. Lights, flaps, radio, and all that.
N220.jpg

That’s it, you can fly. Good luck.
And remember — this aircraft does NOT have an immortal engine. Break the operating mode — and goodbye.

Wonderful, and thank you!
You're welcome. Feel free to ask.
It only seems complicated there. I’ve already gotten used to it and don’t even read the labels. It’s enough to remember the layout. Everything is very similar to American aircraft from the 1930s–1940s, only the metric system is used.
