Kneeboard reference
:The kneeboard reference which includes the layout for the cockpit on the G & H references an older panel; not the panel installed in the aircraft. I found the panel installed in the aircraft comes from the NEWEST Lockheed L-1649A Starliner, version 2.2. I am in the progress of loading the NEW starliner into my FS9, then making a comparison to the old one for functions of components. For instance, the icon stack in the old reference only shows 8 icons whereas in the new panel there are 10. The No. 9 and 10 are radio stack toggle; and resetting opening of cowl flaps. The picture in the NEW Starliner states that the icon stack is not shown unless you pass across it with your mouse. In the G,H, and WV-2 repaints, the stack is visible near the throttle bank with one portion partially hidden which reappears as the mouse is passed across(FE). I am making up a new 2D Captain's Panel reference using a copy of the 2D panel for the G,H, and WV-2's. :isadizzy:

As for the mainpanel simicon stack, we'll probably just get rid of the vanishing effect.

I found that the ref for the NEW 2.2 Starliner matches up with the VC pilot compartment including use of the nose wheel steering which does not work in the 2D, My aircraft on takeoff drifted left and use of the keyboard was over compensating during takeoff run; at least I had trouble controlling it that way. I have not tried a vc takeoff yet; probably easier with nose wheel steering. Also noticed that the light switches on the 2D panel had been put over the windshield because of no access to the side panel in that view. I tried to transfer the reference file from the 2.2 Starliner to the WV2-1, but keep losing the pictures; either by moving or copying. I don't understand all I know about the operation of the reference via the Internet Explorer. Using IE8.

The steering tiller wheel will only work in the VC...that has been that way since the introduction of the VC on the Starliner and is a limitation of the FS system more than the gauge coding of the airplane.
But for takeoff you can simply use the rudder pedals (you can of course always use them for ground steering as well) and she should track just fine.
Of course if you have realism set to max and go to full power very quickly there is a lot of torque and P-factor to compensate so she will veer off a little.

I was at either South Weymouth Mass or Patuxent River Maryland where this was under development. The electronics filled most of the rear of the aircraft including test equipment. It was so heavy that it tweaked the fuselage and was limited in flight.I don't expect you guys to do this one, I've just never seen it before.
It is an EC-121L (WV-2E) a testbed for rotating radar dome with an AN/APS-70 radar.

very nice pics indeed. We have been wondering about that fence-like thing on the inboard edge of the flaps. Actually, I've been searching my ass off to find out what it is. Pardon my french. Seems like we got it right, though.

The KCMA Connie is supposed to get her re-worked tail feathers this weekend. So I'll probably fly out there....hopefully we can get a bit more detail on her.
