Another Hawker Hunter

Hi,

Just come to mind ... what users think about the flightmodel ...
Anyone who experience a "heavy noze" ?
Check the elevators position in horizontal flight at cruise speed .. cause the exessive trim up (at least on my Hunter)

You're the man, Rob! :medals:

That did it.
I converted the whole Waddo textures to DXT3, and what can I say?
RAF Waddington is now blur free. Sharp as a knife.
Due to file size, the FPS of course go down the drain (about 10 with the Hunter approaching), but that's a price I'm willing to pay.

Thanks a lot! :ernae:

Cheers,
Markus.

Corrections for flightmodel ...

Hi,

Those corrections work good for me.

For this model

title=Hawker Hunter F.Mk58
sim=hunter

Some corrections:
At cruise speed the plane fly now in a straight horizontal with the trim position +- 0
It's now possible to use with efficience the autopilot.

Change in the aircraft.cfg:

[flight_tuning]
cruise_lift_scalar=1.0
parasite_drag_scalar=1.1
induced_drag_scalar=1.0
elevator_effectiveness=1.0
aileron_effectiveness=1.4
rudder_effectiveness=1.0
pitch_stability=1.0
roll_stability=1.0
yaw_stability=1.0
elevator_trim_effectiveness=1.2
aileron_trim_effectiveness=1.0
rudder_trim_effectiveness=1.0

A new airfile in attachement (remove the .txt )

As per Mr McLeland's instructions referred to above, convert all DXT1 textures to include MipMaps. This is all you need to do to solve the blurry texture problem. These textures are the panel, wheels and cockpit etc. files. The 32-bit external textures for the sides, wings, tail etc. can be left as they are if your computer can handle it.
Including mipmaps made my 109 repaints blurry in another way. You'd better not include these. Look up close what's the effect. Parts where colours are adjacent look funny and there's a kind of wavey effect in the textures.

I uploaded the Lortie aviation repaint a couple of days ago. It appears the add ons have not been updated for a few days. I'll upload it to flightsim.com today.

Hmmm... I didn't notice any texture weirdnesses up close on the Hunter after I did my conversion. Wonder why it affected your 109 repaints... that IS strange. I'm going to go back and fly the Hunter that I converted again and I'll take a closer look. Initially it cured the flat texture problem that I was having and I was so overwhelmed with glee that I may have overlooked this.

Thanks John

a very good job indeed

but

it is mandatory to used Martin Wright's DXTBmp reformating
freeware tool and put every file on Extended BitMap "DX3"
format.

this being done the "Lortie" Hunter is "crystal clear superb".

Seems that is the case with the "LORTIE" repaint. Initially, I just taxied and took off from the 2D cockpit. Upon switching to the spot view I noticed that one side of the plane was crystal clear, the other was fuzzy and the "N" number as well as the Canadian Flag on the tail were un-readable.

Converting to DXT3 cleared all that up tho.... and the repaint looks clear as a bell!!

The paints that come with Dave Garwood's Hunters... (the ones provided with the "huntpacks") seem unaffected by this. At least on my system.
