Anyone Tried this Pitts?

If anyone wants a better prop texture and a (male) pilot with hair and without a day-glo vest [currently looks more like a UK council worker than a pilot], you might want to try these textures. If you do use this prop texture, I also suggest adding this line to each aircraft cfg entry:

prop_anim_ratio=0.030

let me know what you think!

Thanks, Aardvark. The prop mods work great. Haven't done the pilot, yet. I noticed that the pilots are different for each texture. Gotta find one with grey hair, glasses, mustache, and double chin... LOL.

Bring on the repaints. I'm ready. :jump::jump::jump:

Anyone have issues getting this plane to completely stop? When parked on the ramp with the engine at idle, and prop feathered, mine still seems to creep forward. It will run away if the prop isn't feathered and the parking brake is taken off.....maybe this is normal to the real bird?

According to a response at Avsim from one of the Addictive Simulations team, real-world Pitts pilots have confirmed the need to hold the brakes, even at idle.

Off we go, into the Wild Bue Yonder...

No sooner had I mentioned about being ready for repaints, than SHABAM....

Just released by Kevin Jessee on Avsim.

If anyone's interested, I've just uploaded an unmarked reflective silver-grey metallic repaint of this plane up to Flightsim and Avsim (adapted from their plain white texture):

Must admit, I'm not the biggest fan of acrobatic aircraft, but this is one funky li'l plane - groovy enough to make me want to upload my first ever repaint, of sorts !! (so please be kind!)

Also includes my earlier mods. Should appear in a day or two....

Did someone say RENO??

This thread should be a sticky. Why should all the FSX folks have all the fun??? :salute:

An idle question, and it's nothing more than personal preference...
The wing ribs seem rather exaggerated - I can't recall if it's in the model, base textures, or both?
This aircraft spends a lot of time inverted, and so shadows become more of a factor.

I haven't tried a wing without the shading effects to see if there's any difference. There is quite a bit of multiplied shading in the shading layer which I generally have backed off a bit to around 76%. Although this repaint I left the shading as it came. I should have changed it to normal probably.

Good question. You might as Dan
