[Ask] How to change Me163_599 / Me163B cockpit?

The best add on aircraft as an interceptor in all of CFS3 !! (in my own opinion) . Been looking forward to this since the beginning of CFS3 mods. Sounds like it's going to be a must have .

ah, the yellow 26 skin... will be included aswell ;)

It can certainly get up to the bombers in a hurry, but I've found it's quite difficult to get a kill in it. Seems this was an issue for the original pilots too, the top Komet scorer only got three. With practice I think it could be rather deadly, Komet pilots didn't have that chance, so we can only guess - and see how we do ourselves.

Reading

As promised here is some reading for all you potential Komet pilots to prepare you for your first flights. There are two documents: Me 163B Instructions for Use, and Me 163B Supplemental Notes for Pilots.

Me 163B Instructions for Use is a direct, though rough in a few places, translation I made of the original 1944 Me 163B Bedienungsvorschrift-FL. Only those parts that apply to the pilot have been included, and the takeoff page is an educated guess as my copy was missing that page. This document contains references to some features which are not able to be modeled in CFS3, they are included to give a more complete picture of the original aircraft.

Me 163B Supplemental Notes for Pilots is a compilation of my findings from flying the CFS3 Komet, insights from actual Komet pilots, and general systems information. This document is written to reflect how you will experience the aircraft in CFS3. The procedures and features mentioned will all be available in CFS3.

The purpose of these documents is to try to put you back in 1944, with a period feel and with all the corrections and distortions of 70 years of hindsight removed as much as possible. They will help you fly this unique aircraft more effectively, using methods used at the time, and give you a better understanding of what you are seeing, hearing, and experiencing as you fly the aircraft in CFS3.

Enjoy!

I have a set of missions all ready for this release, Looking forward to this very much.
Once she is made public I will touch up the missions and release this set also.
Many thanks to ALL involved.

You may need to do a bit of reworking, depending on how they are set up. FM changes over development have a major effect on mission possibilities when you only have 230 seconds of fuel.

I expected this, that is why I am awaiting the finals to re-setup the missions, Many Thanks..:applause:

The final basic package has been compiled for Borek, and we'll be releasing on his OK. Stay tuned.

And I still need to fix a few issues with DX9 shaders to get the best results for advanced package -- gecko has used some "never seen before" features which require some code polish on my side.

yeah, I can confirm that :)
did a bit of the Basic package stuff testing already, to not slowdown the public release event ;)

I would wish to add some text into the readme there or here, and let gecko and his co-workers to decide, if to include the lowpoly AI (unarmed) B-17 bomber into the package aswell, or if this common Komet target release later, with working gunstations and so on.

currently the lowpoly B-17 could serve as an relatively easy target for our rocket bird. well, the term "relatively" is correct, because to shutdown the big flying fortress with a mix of high speed, short aiming time, low ammo and limited fuel is just... a fun :)

however, I have to say BIG THANKS to all involved in this project!

ok, gecko added into enduser Komet Basic package the lowpoly B-17 AI airplane and a sample mission :)
the stuff is under testing :)

I also got from gecko an outstanding screenshot image set, you can find it here: http://simhangar.nolimit.cz/main/game-add-ons/messerschmitt-me-163b

4x a small sample from the mentioned screenshot collection:

Yes. As best as is known the Me 163 was not capable of exceeding Mach 1, but it did enter transonic flight, where portions of the airflow around the aircraft do exceed Mach 1. That's what's going on in the picture, where the airflow over the top of the wing is approaching Mach 1, eventually resulting in a shock stall and Mach tuck, which is modeled in the FM.
