ok guys,
I took some time for the Komet CFS2 and FS2004 conversion attempts again. I forgot I have to put there some pilot figure too. I found some of my old low poly mesh wip stuff and redid a bit the textures and the pilot head mesh today...

btw i found the yellow tracer effect in new test model had conflict with other 30mm tracer

This line :

as if i replace the original with the one from your effects tracerside5yellow.dds and tracerend5yellow.dds it will make other 30mm effect in other plane becomes like a square box tracer, so i didn't replace the old file and just rename the new file from yours to tracerside5yellow-a.dds and tracerend5yellow-a.dds so they won't conflict with the old one
and edit the line to :

btw those macro script works well with the skid raise up and down but dolly just gone without seeing it's drop :D
 
I think I could try to add the option to use Hansi in CFS3 :)

as to the issues, please send such related info with PM or with e-mail to me or gecko, I am affraid except the few testers we only would make people confused here with this ;)

note: the macro script works well with latest xdp correction only (not included in the package you got)... now I have a nice proof you really tested it, thanks :)

Will i be able to use this fantastic aircraft,when it's finished, in my other CFS3 installs that are not ETO versions or will it only work with a ETO install ? Would be cool with Firepower's addon and my other Avhistory installs !!
 
well, as far as I know, the Komet project (in developmnet by me and gecko) is an standalone, on other mods independent CFS3 airplane add-on.

HouseHobbit got the wip stuff for its mission creation testing. if he use ETO sources or not I duno. to be honest I never tried any CFS3 mods like ETO, BOB, WOFF etc. and I have no need to install it. my goal is to release the airplane add-on, which should work with a clean CFS3 game installation. I personally use such CFS3 "virgin" game installation only... ok, with a small gfx patch based on wieknieras stuff (shadow shader, better specular mesh effetc and better looking sky / couds), but its because to post nice screenhsots only :)

there is a possibility to get with the CFS3 Komet add-on also the low poly B-17 bomber airplane from my kitchen included, which is designed to be AI enemy for our rocket birdy. this B-17 is ingame already, but it does not include the damage profile and working gunner stations sofar, so its not any dangerous flying fortress for us yet :) however, when/if this will be done, such lowpoly bomber solution allows to use BIG formations with very nice game performance...
 
Yes, the final package will be completely standalone, and should be able to be installed in any version without problems. Just make sure you install everything.
 
Great News! This aircraft should have been included in the original CFS3, not something like the Go-229.Same goes for the He-162 and the Ar-234. What ifs are cool but the real ones are pretty interesting too. Many thanks for all the time spent on this project.:applause:
 
I have the me 163b loaded into all the expansions.. and CFS3
She is a great bird to dance with.
And the AI B-17's work well in large formations..
I would like to see how the Contrails work with them yet. To see how the FPS hit might be. ??

I shall admit never was a Big fan of these birds.
With that said, this model has changed that.

I have gotten somewhat good at the Zoom and boom tactics
And have developed a nice way to dance with the fighters escorting the bombers.
Keep Her above 400 mph at 25,000ft and higher and fighters are not much of a issue.

have suffered at the hands of the AI gunners , but again a change in tactics resolved that.
Just like in real life I make a some passes on a single bomber, and down it, (perhaps two if fuel allows) then Haul out and head home.
Landing is a trick, but as in real life one has to Fly her on the landing in tight control, she is not forgiving once down.
No turns or anything just let Her roll to a stop.
 
Nice project been watching it closely, excellent model. The pilot is very interesting to me, we need more pilots modelled for all nations, because the CFS3 stock pilots are in my opinion pretty rubbish, no oxy mask is a big no, no in a combat sim! The stock pilot would have looked ridiculous in this aircraft!!

Just wanted to ask how the Me-163b project pack is coming along. Can't wait to add this aircraft to most of my many CFS3 installs. Looks so very fantastic from the pics shown ? I read, in this thread ,that it performs awesome and realistically with a accurate air file ,as it should.The low poly AI B-17's are a great addition for large formations in the missions Around what time, BorekS ,are you looking at for the much awaited and all inclusive Me-163b project pack to be released and uploaded. Really excited about this Me-163b/missions pack. I'd also like to thank BorekS,geko,househobbit,all the testers and all the fine contributors who have spent their precious time and worked so hard,( they did this for our enjoyment and we must always remember that), on this long awaited and exciting addition for CFS3. Thanks again guys for using your skills for the enjoyment of others.:very_drunk:

well, as to my Komet project development part, here is the latest stage:

* 3d external model is done, needs to fix a bit the pilot animations yet. the pilot figure is a part of the model, so you cant select it in the game menu. still you can use the grey cloth for the german guy called Wendler, to make the menu scene bit more historic accurate :)

* 3d interiror model is done. I would like to repaint the dials there a bit. I didnt got any gauge material from gaucho (he is probably busy with own stuff), so I started to paint my own solution. it goes well, but it will need to tweak some needle animation.

* 2d stuff - the skin templates are done finally, finished yesterday. PDN and PSD skin templates will be available (see attached image sample). now I have to make a final version of the Komet ariplane add-on pack skins. its about 8 skins, maybe I will do 2 next another yet.

additional work: the Komet skin templates should come with the Komet paint kit. I hate to call few paint templates a "paint kit", I mean the templates should come with own 3d room application (exe), where the painter can rotate, zoom the Komet external model and refresh the texture. this paint kit should come BEFORE the CFS3 Komet add-on release. no need to wait for the add-on, because the paint kit INCLUDES the encoded 3d Me 168B mesh already.

aside this, I am working on the Komet CFS2 and FS2004 conversion.

a small gauge repaint sample attached. work in progress (note: image watermark added).

the goal is to make the gauges bit more unified looking. same font and so on...

the upper row presents the old gauge paints (CFS3).
the middle row presents the new gauge paints (CFS3).
the bottom row presents new gauge paints usable for 2D panel (CFS2/FS2004).

this is an early screenshot stuff of the Komet PaintKit Room application. there are two scenarios, a Komet at the ground and a flying Komet. the user can roatate and zoom the camera, and by using a reload key he can immediately refresh the painted texture. the PaintKit room runs in a window mode with a native 1024x768 resolution. so the user can have open the PaintKit and his paint program together and he can see the skin changes without any quit-run app event...

I am using such similar tool for all my Komet skin creation :)

the Komet PaintKit Room is stadalone application, independent on any flighstim sources, it just use same mesh and textures (CSF3 DDS compatible format).

Are the gauges 2d or 3d? If they are 2d I can share some 3d frames and glass. Let me know.
