I know only too well Ferry!

This is reasonably sedate, one I hope to see updated to a higher standard, but a welcome subject just the same.

Most annoying, this sucker will not load and throws an error despite three different downloads and installations!!!!
I've been haunting VELOS site since this came up as a WIP as it's one of those classics from when I first discovered Le Mans and Jaguar.
That was in another life.
Just have to grow some extra patience! They look good.

This last 'Carrera PanAmericana' version is quite accurate and one I'm particularly taken with.

And another really good 911 to stir up the Adrenaline!
Very close to 'our' yellow GTS in fact, comes from SutaSimGarage.

Out with it Noddy!
How did you get that C-Type to run?
I've attempted several installs from several fresh downloads and I get the following: 'ERROR with content:jaguar_c_type, view log for details.'
Finding any error in any of the log files is not doing me any good, nothing shows up!!!
:banghead:

Update! I came across this in the launcher log text: 'ERROR Car: jaguar_c_type Invalid JSON primitive: Velo.'
Looks like I'm going to learn something new.

There's an update for the C-types at the Velos site that fixes the problem ,Wombat. :encouragement:

Thanks Ferry, I'll head on over and get it. :biggrin-new:
I edited the 'ui_car.json' file that came up after reading the assorted logs, removed the VELOS name and website URL and the cars loaded.
No idea why as that sort of information appears in various forms in other files but I'll get the proper update thanks to you.
At least I can open up those files now just because I can!

Lovely old metal there :applause:

Thanks to velos mods I can now make a nice starting grid with just classic British cars as AI. The start was a bit messy though:

And for once, it wasn't my fault! :biggrin-new:

Some of his mods are pretty nice (E-Type lightweight, Eagle Speedster), but others still have some odd things, like the ABS on the D-type and the choice of slicks or semi slicks on the C-type.
His Ford Mustang IMSA is a nice car to drive, but it should have a V8 and not a turbo 4I AFAIK.

Sorted out at last thank you Ferry.
A trifle rough inside but it feels, sounds and looks like a Jaguar!!
Agreed Ferry, with a little imagination an early 1950s LM grid is possible, maybe short on a couple of period Ferraris but good enough for some entertaining racing.
I'll add the early Porsche 550 Spyders into the mix as well.
