Hang on a sec. No offence to you dvj and at the risk of highjacking a really important thread, I never uploaded this here and it's a subscription site too. Is this kosher? I never upload anywhere nowadays except here and Flightsim.com (Avsim as well years ago). What's the story? PM me rather than clog up the thread.

Has anyone found a fix for the two blacked out panels in the VC?
Actually, after looking a bit closer it seems to be not only the two side panels but also the glare shield and I believe they are all one piece. Probably a placeholder and I don't see any way other than having the source code to correct that. Too bad.
If you encounter black VC panels with portovers, open the MDL file with a text or hex editor and look for a known VC panel name, in this case e.g. "$pan1". Once you find this one, you will easily find all the other panel names, usually they are in the same line. For the B-58, you will find that the missing entries are $pan3, $pan4 and $pan5. The fix is then to add these lines into the panel.cfg:
[Vcockpit04]
Background_color=0,0,0
size_mm=256,256
visible=0
pixel_size=256,256
texture=$pan3
[Vcockpit05]
Background_color=0,0,0
size_mm=256,256
visible=0
pixel_size=256,256
texture=$pan4
[Vcockpit06]
Background_color=0,0,0
size_mm=256,256
visible=0
pixel_size=256,256
texture=$pan5
cheers, Henk.
I figured it had to be something with the panel.cfg file just wasn't certain how to go about it. Century, looks like Henk has got it covered, thanks for both responses though. . .well done.:salute:If you encounter black VC panels with portovers, open the MDL file with a text or hex editor and look for a known VC panel name, in this case e.g. "$pan1". So is there any confirmation from the Milvis team that a B-58 is being developed by them?
That did it. . . . .I think the glareshield might be one of those items that wasn't textured and just had a color assigned to it in the mdl file. I downloaded a hex editor, but it was mostly greek to me. I did find the $pan_ references, but looking for anything else that would make sense was going to be impossible. I may mess with that at some point with MDLMat, just to get a color that doesn't look like somethings missing, lol.
No I don't really. Actually all I use are "walkaround" photos. Usually I can get all the info I need from them, including better close-ups of the decals and access doors.I always wondered how you repainters create paint kits. I chose the B-58 for my first project for creating layers and aluminum skin in DDS format. I gotta remember to flip the image on those.
Falcon, do you know where I can locate detailed 3D drawing of the panels on the B-58? I have a few drawing, but not at the level used by Marek Rys model.
