Battle of Britain - Royal Air Force update...

Some minor issues and questions...

To all,

Doing the final prep work for the RAF Battle of Britain release, I've run into some minor snags and brain farts.

1) Could someone please remind me what number (0, 1 , 2) I use in the 505 section of the airfile to activate the carburetor effect in the Hurricanes and Spitfires?

2) Has anyone altered the .dp file of the AH multi-lod Hurricanes and Spitfires so that they don't use the goofy Japanese 110-gallon drop tanks and the ridiculously over-sized stock bombs? P-L-E-A-S-E?

3) And lastly, both Hurricanes upon installation only fire their port-side guns. The ammo count should be 2,668, but it's only listed as 1,332 with the port guns firing. Here is the relevant .dp info for the gunstations. How do I fix it?

I remember Kelti saying a while back that he did some mods for these aircraft. I want to see what his response might be...

Also....Talon helped me on the gun stations, that's all set now.

Here are some pics.

For the Spitfire, I think two 60lb, two 125lb, or two 250lb bombs would be much more appropriate.

For the Hurricane, the 250 and 500lb bombs feel more appropriate, but weapons more suitable would be nice.

20 or 2 bombs of 60 lb? I´ve never seen a picture of a Spit with that number of bombs.

To all,

Included in the release of this campaign will be revised .air and .cfg files which will provide realistic or near-realistic performance for the Hurricanes and Spitfires, (this will include a carburetor effect) along with the Bf-109e, Bf-110c, and the Dornier Do-17.

I finalized work on them tonight, and am reasonably satisfied with the results. I may work on one or two more as the need arises, such as the Blenheim, which I had to work with tonight.

Okay folks...the entire package is just about ready....all that remains is writing the dynamic campaign file. First....I have to figure out the chronological order of all 106 missions!
 
BoB (RAF) IS FINISHED!!!

To all,

The Royal Air Force BoB package is finished and will be shipped off to my tester tonight. There's only two little things holding up its release...

1) I'm still waiting for my reminder of what number I use to create carb effects...

2) And I'm waiting for revised .dp files for the AH Hurricane and Spitfire.

Other than that, she's raring to go...boy...writing that dynamic campaign file for 106 missions was a real *itch! :wiggle:

So far I failed changing the loadouts for the Hurries. Somehow I could only get one of the changed bombs and none of the drop tanks to be seen. Back to reading Caleb Flerks dp tutorial. To many kids at home using the desktop computer so few chances of fiddling with them tonight.

By the way: I haven´t found a brit 60 lb bomb. Only a Japanese one.

I'm no expert but perhaps it "Fuel Metering Type" = 1 = Gravity Carburetor?

good morning rami . that problem hapen to me before. i tryed to fix it many times cuting and pasting from others dp¨s. but without good resaults. So i just made a new dp file from 0 point using dped program and other stock of weapons . there was a time that works deleting all cdp files of all aircraft stock cfs2.:wavey:

You don't mention it, but are the payload names listed at the bottom of the .dp file after the system names, like this?

I don't think it should affect the release, but you also have 80 drop tanks for the Hurri in [guns.2]. For 2 drop tanks, it should read:

The Spit has 10 drop tanks listed in [guns.3]
For 2 drop tanks, it should read:

[guns.3]

I used your text in the AH Hurri .dp and made sure the payload names were also added and it worked fine for me.

If this was not the problem, e-mail your dp file and I will get it working for you.

BTW For a slightly more realistic Hurri torpedo shaped wing tank, you might consider using the wep_ja_oscar_drop_gp model?

...the drop tanks on the Hurricane still won't drop...any ideas?...

That didn't work either, but because they aren't actually used in BoB, just the bombs, it's kind of a moot point for now.

Bizarre - Mine dropped just fine.

Maybe it's something to do with the keyboard / joystick assignments ?
