Battle of Midway USN and IJN ships

Problem solved Joe
I have forget to check this D... boat lol:running:

Sorry for the time, a problem whit my modem prevent me to upload to simviation !
the problem for CA 32 come from Gmax overload memory, to many node on the same texture, not en off to cancel the compilation but en off to scrap the texture, (I have see this before so not so long to find the
problem.)
File uploaded to night at simviation.com and will be there tomorrow. :sleep:Happy new years and good flight to all !:icon29:

Thanks woodylepi,
I will keep an eye on Simv for the update. One more small thing that i just came across, is there are some missing textures on CA-24 USS Pensacola
I don't think its the same problem as CA-32 USS New Orleans as the textures show black. Here is a pic of all CA's and you can see the missing textures
on CA-24 (crane, life boats, catapults and top mast of tripod mast) and the way CA-32 looks as of now (before update).
Looking forward to the Coral Sea package when finished.

No problem on the email, if you need someone to test before release id be happy to assist. So far these are the only problems i have spotted, but will look over all ships in the Midway packages to see if there are anymore. Thanks again, and Happy New Years to you.

Yes you can save a flight, then open or edit them in the flight sim x folder.

You can't save a flight on a MOVING carrier, i.e. one driven by aicarriers2, and expect to be back on
deck when you reload the flight. You can, as I recall, save a flight on deck of a CV driven by the AI Boat Traffic
tool that drives the ships on fixed routes and times. I've not flown any CV flights in a very long time but I do recall
having saved several flights and was able to relaunch later.

I also posted a lengthy description, some time ago, of a method to place yourself on the deck of a moving CV
without being thrown over the side or immediately launched into the air. I don't remember if that was posted in the forums here
or at AVSIM.

You can, of course, save and relaunch flights from the deck of a static "scenery" CV, but what's the challenge in that? :) :)

I'm afraid I don't understand how this works. I downloaded the application and installed it but what am I supposed to do to fly to these fleets? I don't have any folders called ai carriers.

Do you have AI Carriers 2 installed? You can get it at Flightsim just search for "aicarriers2.zip". You will also need the latest Java installed to make it work.

Thanks Joe.
The instructions imply that all that is needed is the fleet packs, not that you must have Ai Carriers2 installed also.

So, I manged to find the Yorktown out there NW of Hawaii......Yeah Me!

Thanks for your older carrier dude's patience with us newbies....I've managed to figure out AI Carriers (sort of) and get into some of the Midway missions. Quite a challenge wandering around out there over the Pacific with the fuel gauge getting closer and closer to EMPTY! I've also actually landed without either smashing into the stern, or flinging myself over the bow. These are things I do not take for granted. :)

Whole new part of the simulation.

Don't forget "crashing into the island structure" That's doable too! :icon_lol: IRL, the pilots would be given a "Point Option", which was the "gonculated" location of the carrier when they returned, which was based on expected course and speed of the ship, divided by expected time of the mission, added to the square root of luck. Of course, while the mission was away, the home carrier would be attacked by the bad guys, and that tossed "expected course & speed of the ship" over the side! The carriers did have the YE radio homing beacon, sort of like an ADF, and that was often a huge help.

Oh great! Now I can fling myself into the superstructure....sure, why not....

Don't suppose the YE beacon is simulated anywhere is it?

Look like you have finaly find the Ships !

Wow Biutifull Wilcat here ! how dificult is, to land this "cat" on the deck ?. and where did you get this biuti ! By the way, Coral see package is near completions, Happy news years :icon29:!

That looks like the Payware JF/AH (JustFlight/ Airplane Heaven) wildcat to me? There is a freeware FM2 (native FSX) out there, but not to many paints for it.
Looking forward to the coral sea update. Have a Happy New Year.:salute:
