Beaufighter progress...

This is with the cowl flaps animated as spoilers (open with "d") . . . .

....freaking what? Came back from Rio to work on an AIR file? Are you out of your fraking mind? :isadizzy:

But what's not to love about this pug-nosed, pug-ugly little airplane? :engel016:

I was there WORKING. Believe it or not, a lot of people WORK HARD at Rio. I live in Brasilia, 1,200km from there, but I was born at Rio.

Cheers

Bismarck, are you using...

I cannot figure out what to do with the cowl flaps. When I make the model with them called "cowl_flaps0" or whatever, the *&^%$# things don't work. I can bang on the keyboard, use the Mape gauges and nothing happens. Should I animate them as something else? I can put them on the spoiler key or the tailhook but then they will not be incremental . . .

Stupid animations. Why can't they all just work?

...the updated/corrected mdl_paramDict files for FSDS2.24? I've attached them for you, if not. Are you getting an error message about valid animation tags when trying to produce the MDL file with the cowl flaps tagged? This is one indication that you have the older files.

You didn't...

It's incredible. Rio is a mix of California, New Orleans (before Katrina) and Chicago. Is a place to work and get a lot of fun. There are people that begin to work at 10AM, after the beach, and go working untill 8PM. Other work from 9AM to 7PM and THEN, they got to have a lot of fun. Monday I saw a lot of executives leaving their business at Down Town Rio (a historic and beautiful place) at 7PM to join their employees in a bloco (a group of people in disguise playing and dancing samba and, yehp, flirting too).

One of my friends is a CEO of an aviation company at Rio. He get to surf from 6AM to 7.30AM when he take a bath, a breakfast and go to work at 9AM. Here, we begin at 9AM and go to 8PM. Brasilia is a planned city so we can lunch everyday with our families but, surely, lacks some of Rio's charms.

Cheers

The cowl flaps don't give an error meassage, but then neither does the throttle lever. Neither of them work for me in the game. It is definitely not my parameters I have even more stuff enabled, like the flap keys, which work incidently . . .

I am thinking it is something in the .air file. You probably have to enable the cowl flaps like you do with the spoilers. My copy of airwrench isn't working anymore so I will have to find it with another editor or hope that Peperez can fix it when he makes an airfile . . . .

Argghhhh!!!!

The problem was that I was using the wrong name. In my FSDS it had cowl_flap0 for an animated part. Turns out, the correct names are cowling_r and cowling_L. Of course that is not one of the listed parts . . . .

What would I do without that Caleb Flerk website????

Bismarck13,

It's amazing that it's always that simple, isn't it? :caked:

...have eventually tripped over the simple term Cowling on the parameter list. :engel016:
