Just upload 'em & let 'whoever' tweak the airfile to their hearts delight.
 
I sent the airfile I'm using to be tested by Pen32Win.I've had no problems with it at all.The planes do what they are supposed to do.

This aircraft will get a lot of use. I'm thrilled to see the 'think tank' working through these problems to sort it out. Good work by all! :ernae:

The good thing about all this is that once the airfile has been adjusted to everyones satisfaction it should be applicable to all marks of the Beau with only minor tweaking..

Is this realistic? The flight parameters are correct? They fly at the exact speed? They got the exact ceiling? What are the MOI parameters? If so, send me your mod to evaluate it...

Why don't you do some tests with original airfile-Attack static target with bombs.You will see the plane just gains alt. and won't attack.They should glide bomb a static target when set to category 4.

This is just nuts . . .

I have never seen anything like this before. I have made lots of aircraft but this is just plain awful. In the last two days I have tried 15 different airfiles, adjusted configs around, tried every thing I can think of, and these stinking beaufighters won't cooperate. I got them to do attacks on moving targets, but when I switch over to a fighter, they won't attack another aircraft. So then I monkey with it some more and lose everything I had before. Now they won't attack anything in the air or on the ground. The pathetic thing is that I only succeeded in getting them to work with a 1-3 (fighter-divebomber) setting and I need something that will work at a 1-10 setting and do ALL the missions . . . .

I am beginning to believe that it aisn't going to happen. I am on the verge of shelving this whole project because it is driving me nuts.

Please do not shelve it. I'm confident that a solution will be found. If not, the Beaufighter campaign is in serious jeopardy. I would encourage anyone who has found a solution to upload any tweaks or fixes.

What do you need to change the designation to?
 
I just tried the BeauVIF4 and have it working with the Family=1 and category=10.It will attack planes and also drop bombs and fire guns on static targets.I haven't tried it with moving targets yet.

The fix is in the works, it's just been a very busy week at work...

The numbers I have for the Beaufighter are 265Knts at Sea Level, 278Knts at 10K.

I've got one right now that does 264.42 @ 500', 282.32 @ 10000'.

I've got to go take care of my horses and then I'll be back to complete the AI combat testing.
