Beech AT-11 KANSAN Released

Sweeeet!!! I got her up and about for a few smooth circuits and landed with only two "baby" bounces the first time. Trust me -- that is a major feat for me. She handles like the true beauty she is.

And Gary outdid himself with this set of R-985 sounds. Maybe be the best ever. I have a few other R-985 airframes lurking in the hanger corner that are going to get re-fitted -- after I mess with this baby for a few hours. Someitmes it's good to be retired.:mixedsmi:

Milton, thanks very much for the link via PM, this aircraft is a joy to fly, albeit a short hop tonight, what a work of art this Kansan is! Cheers! Mike :ernae:

Thanks for all the nice comments. Regarding landing, 3 pointers work best, nice and slow, depending on weight, low 70's under power.

Can't help my forever fiddling. Have installed Shockwave lighting but have a question. Did the AT-11 have strobes? I don't want to mess with tradition (too much) but out-of-sync strobes are really cool.

I'm thinking of adding strobes to the civie version myself. I figure if I'm gonna fly in modern times, I might as well upgrade to current standards!

In my best Hannibal Lector voice: "Okey dokey then."

If anyone else is fascinated with Shockwave's brilliant(sorry) effects, here are the ones I used.

[LIGHTS]

ps edit. Just noticed my age and post count are identical. Must mean something.

Guess y'all are right. But I have an excuse -- of sorts. Until very recently, I was mired back in fs2002 with a 12 year old gerble powered PC. Now that i've got a kick a** 4 quad processor plus all the goodies, I can play with the big boys.

While I could use the vast majority of the fs2004 birds, most of them required a mess of fiddling to get 'em off the ground let alone get close to the full capabilities of fs2002. Now I load and go, which means I'm getting in a lot of actual flying time as opposed to tweaking. I fly with all the sliders pushed hard over and never get so much as a twitch. So far I can't excite more than one of the processors. How cool is that?

Glad the Kansan is out. :ernae:
I'm gonna wait 'til the rush is over (and the tweaks are in). But thanks in advance! :salute:

You gotta do what ya gotta do h52. :salute:

And to think I was trying to rush this release (after 18 months of sweating the details), and the F7F's so I could get started on the E-1B and the C-1A and S2F. Maybe I'll wait until all the tweaks are done too. LOL :wiggle:

Milton, I just had a great first leg of a flight. I took off from KSEA, and landed at CYPW. I'm headed further North. Who knows where! I'm just having a great time flying it.

I did notice that the AP did not allow change in course of the rudder. It was turning by the numbers on the dial, but the plane wasn't. Also, the compass above the AP was not working. It just bounced in a 3 degree +/- deflection. I'm [not] complaining mind you as it was just my observations on this lengthy first leg. I don't know what the heck it's called. I'll just quote a previous comment.
The gryo is uncaged, set auto pilot and adjust heading but the aircraft drifts off of the heading by 10 degrees, plane flys at a 10 degree angle and stays in that position. Everytime I adjust to the current heading it drifts off again and stays at a 10 degree angle...

You all did a great job all around. And Damians paints are top notch! :salute:

And to Racartron, Thanks for the SW Lights settings. Much appreciated! Although The beacon underneath and the tail are not working for some reason. (all switches are on) They work for you?

AT-11

Milton;
Thanks for putting up with us "pests".. I just DL'ed this beautiful plane and Larry's Hobbs scenery... Now to put both into my freshly installed FSX flight sim (we'll see if FSX is all it's cracked up to be ;-} )
Thanks, again, for all your, and your team's, work.
Charles.

WAIT WAIT WAIT!!!!! did i read this right???? your gonna do an S-2F? WOW! :jump:That is my second favorite aircraft of all time behind the Herc. Dare i ask if you will do a S-2A Tanker version for this Tanker nerd?

WOW!

Well, what can I say...? Not much at the moment as I am absolutely gobsmacked!
This is an outstanding model in all aspects!
Thank you Milton, and everybody in your team for serving up such a delight!

Thanks a bunch Oleboy; will look into this issue as well. Enjoy! LOL

I think you will like it, just some changes to get used to. Thanks for your comments; nothing wrong with excitement and fun in anticipation of something new; that's what drives me to completion. :)

If I do one of these; it will be E-1B; if I do two; there will be a C-1A, if three, then that will be an S2-F of some sort. There are enough similarities to over-commit and enough differences to drive a modeler crazy. :-/

Thank you Stuart. I appreciate everyone's comments.

Let me just specify here all the others who worked to make the AT-11 possible:

Scott Thomas. Damian Radice, Gary Jones, Taigh Ramey, Eric Payne, Craig "Full" Richardson, Larry Green, Jerry Beckwith, Will McCoy, Nick Pike, Tom Falley

Thank you Gentlemen :applause:

Only a short flight around the patch so far in this latest gift from Milton and his team of experts. And I can only add my thanks to those already posted and say once again we have been given a Masterpiece by one of the greatest in our hobby.

Thanks Milton and Team....she is a treat.

Stefan
