Although indeed OT, I believe that no further development is planned for now on the F-86. Make sure you have the latest 2024 compatible version, I made a completely updated livery set for that correcting many mistakes, including insignia shape.
 
Serial and '1' look to be too far back, but could be the angle. Did they ever correct the serial number on the nacelles of the white serial numbers on earlier versions? I've been studying these things for over thirty years now, and have only ever seen the last 3 numbers of the serial on the nacelles.

The other question is when will this finally be released? Its been in the works now for at least 7 years!

Indeed you are the authority on this subject! I'll check this as I've already commented to them on the liveries and much has been corrected already. As for development, I can not comment on a release date. What I can comment is that it is shaping to be the most complete experience of flying a Blackbird mission from startup to shutdown. Finally, the background you see is the 80's version of Beale AFB which is currently receiving just its final touches.
