Between the DC-3 and the C-97 I'm in oil drippin'....oil burnin' heaven! :)

I guess I will just have to wait until the "G" files are converted to "L" files for the jet pods, as I don't have the set-up to move textures from one
DDS file to another. It's a great aircraft and look forward to the new sub-mod versions.

Good morning 'Vet':

I've been doing some 'experimenting' this morning and as you can see by the attached pic, the only difference on texture file "C97_03" is in the lower right hand corner - 'fuel pods' vs 'jet pods'..

Since I haven't been able to find a 'paint kit' yet specific to the 'jet pods', and since there will probably be an 'alpha channel' involved, if it where me I would probably ask the person that did the "KC" paint you want to move if they would be so kind as to redo the lower right hand corner of file "03" - (replace the 'fuel pods' with the 'jet pods' and assco items) so the rest of the items on the 'sheet' would stay the same (markings etc of the one your trying to move) - thus the 'whole' file (sheet) wouldn't have to be re-done..

Try that and see how that works...

Hope it helps..

Bill

Can you please scroll up and see my same question that was met with useful tips or suggestions that will solve your question which is also same as mine too?

I'm not familiar with painting portion, I am more into scenery design. I was hoping some would just be forth coming.....

I have come to realize that after 4 hours of trying to converting files that I am not talented enough to do it. Alas I guess I get only 1 "L". Still a great aircraft.

I've updated the Spanish version to KC-97L:

and painted one for the Utah Air Guard:

Shalom Jankees,

If it is not too much trouble, can you please be kind enough to do easy task exporting your Israeli air force livery from KC-97 to KC-97L? I remember seeing one in Israeli books.

And I am afraid to screw up if I try to do the export stunt of your Israeli livery from KC-97 to KC-97L.

Also, I tried to download your new Utah livery for KC-97L and the download function is not working. Please advise?

Thanks,

Aharon

Jankees,

Oh I don't know, Illinois, Wisconsin, Texas, Pennsylvania, Missouri, Arizona, New York, SAC "clean", SAC "Artic". Just about anything suitable for "Operation Creek Party" Missions. I tried to do the transfer of
the engines to the "G" models, but, it never worked.....

Many thanks.....

don't you just love a man with simple tastes...

well, here's a few more then

I know the Texas one took part in the last Creek Party, not sure about the others.
Haven't seen any Arctic KC-97's so far, if you have any pics?

yes, this was done with the recorder.

I was asked to think about a few more civilian schemes, so I came up with this:

I know, they never flew the C-97, but I think it still looks nice, don't you?

Then my daughter came up with an idea:

any takers?

and finally, what I think was the last C-97 that worked for its money:

still a few things to sort, but getting there...
