Buccaneer S1 Released (Payware)

Been eagerly awaiting her a long time now and bought it a few mins after seeing this thread. Absolutely awesome! Looks great & flies great!
The only minor issue I ran into repeatedly was that making touch & go landings revealed an odd bug involving the nose strut and pitch/elevator control. I ran the approach to the Ark Royal (with moving AI Carriers 2) well within the speed, weight, and descent parameters but on touchdown going back to full power/closing the speed brake with sufficient back pressure, the plane pitched down after clearing the deck and crashed. The third time I ran into this I hit the slew key and went to external view and noticed the nose gear was still extended after I started the retraction sequence. Upon releasing the slew key after slewing the plane up to a few thousand feet, I cycled the gear and the nose strut didn't move. Then I quickly discovered the plane had no pitch control whatsoever. I moved the contact points damage threshold up 3 times higher than the original numbers but still encountered this glitch once again. It's a minor issue and perhaps no one else has experienced this?

(Update)

Upon testing just now, the glitch I am encountering happens only if the nose wheel rolls off the end of the angle deck still in contact with the deck. I have encountered this with other aircraft models & AI Carriers. Most notably, (besides the Ark), the Clem and Nimitz using models like Piglet's Skyraider which seems to suffer tail wheel failure after going over the edge of the deck on Cat launches and touch and goes. So after this discovery and comparisons to other models I have in use, I do not believe this is problem solely with the Bucc but more a bug possibly related to AI Carriers and some aircraft models(this issue has not affected every model I use on AI Carriers, only a couple thus far).

Bone: .. Here are some screen grabs of both Pilot and Observers Cockpits, lots to play with in both seats.

As Skippy says, the main page at the site will be updated in a few days, but she is already available, paint kit to come in days too.

Hi Sketchy,

I really like the Buccaneer - and this screenshot! Do you think you could provide it in a higher resolution, so that I can use it as my desktop background?

Regards,
Craig :)

This one looks brilliant :) How far has the development come on the S.2B ? That's the one I remember visiting Sola, as a kid.

Thanks and Merry Xmas

I'd love to see a Desert Storm paint!

This video shows why. Just something about a country painting all it's aircraft desert brown, just boggles my mind (war that is).

I wonder how long it took to paint all the aircraft, whose decision it was, how/when the order came down.

Regards, Diego

P.S. nice plane :)

None of this model Bucc were still flying then, the RAF aircraft used in Desert Storm were S2 models, modified to S2B's. I doubt that will stop the re-painters though!

Paint kit is already available, on the main page... :salute:

Was aptly described by my course instructor (on S2 variant) at Honington as an 'egonomic slum'!!

To echo Calypsos, the S1 had long gone by the time of 'Op Granby'
being replaced by the S2 which gained more powerful RR Spey engines.

S2B also gained the bulged bomb door fuel tank; and 'Pave Spike'
capability

Excellent video, I'll have to remember to fly out of Gibralter when I get home and pick this up.

Yup very handy on those carrier take offs!

Or just a lot of fun on a runway!

Happy Christmas Andy, hope all is well back in my birth County!

Cheers,

Sketchy.

I am not too sure you mean, from another download site?

Yes, such as Flightsimstore (I noticed the B-57 is up for sale there). Not that it poses any particular problem to purchase it from the current store, it's just convenient to have most of my purchases come from one store should I ever need to redownload it all again. :)

We were considering selling it from another store, but the current system works well. I understand the concerns of the need to reload after an unfortunate event, that being said all you would have to do is contact us via the Flying Stations Forum with your order number and we could send it on again, we are a small outfit after all and you can be assured of a personal reply.
Cheers,
