hello, can i buy msfs2024 on my laptop, and let it sit without downloading it until i get a chance to get to my flight sim desktop? im still confined to my bed for now, but im improving everyday.
dumb question, but where can i buy it? i wont use steam, for some reason i cant sign into my steam account, and ive not changed anything. but i wont use steam anyway.

You can buy through Microsoft Store (shopping bag icon on the taskbar) or the Xbox App (start menu, All, scroll down to Xbox).
In either case, search for Microsoft Flight Simulator and take your choice. Best wishes for a speedy recovery!

I have two thoughts on that based on my own experience using the Steam version.

A. I like running everything thru Steam. Makes purchasing stuff from the Marketplace really easy if you've already got a Steam store account set up.

B. On the other hand, with the complete mess that the Marketplace is. Part of me wished I'd bought the standalone version of 2024. Since I already had 2020 thru Steam, it automatically piled everything together and there isn't a way I can think of to load a clean 2024. The 2020 can be de-activated in My Library, but the way my anti-clutter OCD brain works, it's not the same as a clean install. :)

Also, not from personal experience, but the feeling I've gathered reading the forums all along, it seems to me folks are having less trouble with the way Steam installs 2024.
