Ok here's a screenshot in mid-flash.

Thanks Roger, see what you mean, it must be very annoying. I don't have it on my setup, running dx9, and that's why it's there. That groove or sealant is a separate part in the model, hovering a fraction in front of the window post, too much of a fraction it seems. Texture tweaking won't cure it, but model tweaking could. Does the effect persist when you open the window?

Hi Manfred, opening the window makes no difference.

If it is any help, I see this flickering only in Dx10, fixed with Steve's Fixer.

It is most obvious in the "spotless" textures.

It is less obvious in the "clean" textures but still there.

It is not there at all in the "weathered" textures.

I have to say that I had not noticed it at all until I read this thread.

May I take this opportunity to thank you for the superb aircraft model which has
at last exceeded the excellent MaamSim version and weaned me off it after so many years.

Best wishes,
Nick.

As Manfrd suggested it is a model issue not a texture issue. It is still there with the weathered textures but less noticable with the darker textures as a dark texture flashing over another dark texture is bound to be less noticable, however I am using a 27" monitor.

dx10 tweak

Roger & Nick,

would you like to test this version - I've moved the sealant line 1 mm. Might do the trick. Remember to copy it to both mdl folders, after backing up.

Edit: Link removed, see post #271.

Hello Manfred,

I find that the flicker is still there on the left window

and on the right window the strip is no longer visible

Sorry.

We can do this by e mail if you wish, I have sent mine by pm to you.

Regards,
Nick

Thanks for the update Manfred, really appreciate your dedication for detail. Great aircraft.

missing textures

You missing just the texture for the radials or for the entire nacelle?

Gman,

Missing only the radials. The rest of the plane is textured ok. I found out that in DX10 it is all there. I would rather fly it in DX 9 with the rest of the planes that don't support 10... Sorry for the late return, work got in the way of life...

Many thanks to Manfred for solving the flickering issue in Dx10 in both the C-47 and the C117 vcs:ernaehrung004:

No worries...work before fun.
Weird about the radials, they are on the same texture sheet as the rest of the skin. Try a re-install and see if possibly a file got dropped somewhere along the line. Hit me back here when you do that.
