Really enjoying this model at the moment, esp with SteveB's repaints, but i seem to have no airspeed indicator, both the panel gauge and the shift-z dispaly along the top of the screen indicate 0 knots when flying. im just wondering if theres an easy fix for this,
Although it flys quite well, im guessing it use's on of Itos standard airfiles, im also guessing knowones made up a more authentic one.

Thanks for your help Obio, but it dose'nt seem to work, with the new fde, ive lost all my throttle control, just sits on the runway idling, i redownloaded the files a second time and reinstalled thinking i'd screwed it up the first time but still the same, so for the moment ive put the original fde back in.

Do a search at Flightsim Ian, I'm pretty sure that there are some tweaked FDEs over there; I also seem to recall that there is also a replacement model file without the 50mm cannon, which may also have had replacement FDEs.
 
You might be certain that the "Pitot Heat" is turned on. If not, the aircraft will register "0" airspeed under certain conditions.:salute:
 
I dont know what i did but after reinstalling the model a couple of times, im now getting my airspeed showing, but none of the airfile mods seem to work, ive try'd 3, Piglets from this site and 2 updates found on Flightsim, when i install them, i lose my throttles. so for the time being, i'll stick with the original, its maybe a little fast but its fun to fly.

Are you using both the air file and the aircraft.cfg files from Piglet's FDE pack? I have used this pack on Ito's 410 and it worked just fine.

Engine Type?

Ito is well known to use 'engine type=1' for all his models. The air file, therefore, will be jet or turbo. If you get an air file for 'engine type=0' (piston), and the cfg file was 'engine type=1' then your engines won't work. Get it? OK! Check your cfg for type engine and open air file and check engine type (section 310, 0=piston,1=jet,3=helicopter,5=turboprop) so to match the cfg engine type. And, NO you can't just change the cfg engine type= entry. The point is that the cfg and air file must BOTH be for SAME TYPE engine. OK? OK!

Ive only had this sim for about 6 years, you'd think i'd learn by now :mixedsmi: , basiclly Obio and Chuck are both on the money, i my defence, my airfiles seem to have been converted by Abode Reader 9 into an installer package files, whatever they are, and dont show as a note-pads which im used to, now i know where to look, i should'nt have this problem again.

I'd bet good money at this point that you have BBC iPlayer installed. That uses an Adobe product, Adobe Air, to drive it which is why your airfiles now show as "installer package files".

dont you just hate it when you download a program and it screws up something totally unrelated.

I suspect if Microsoft had still been actively behind FS then they would not have let Adobe get away with that. Thankfully it hasn't actualy impacted on the game, just changed the icon.
