CBI Scenery Project

Thank you Uncle. That was indeed the issue.

For the life of me I cannot remember why I removed the CST (coast) files. Especially from my 'Super Stock' install.

Ahh, the mouth of the Ganges!!!

And with it, a whole new set of challenges.

First, the river mouth to the top right of the screengrab below is the River Feni. It's all-new, as since the War it's been blocked by a dam...

Looking Nw from the same location we have the all-new approaches to the small port of Noakhali. This town doesn't exist anymore - it was washed away by the Ganges in the '50's, & it's channel has been filled in by sediment as the mighty river changes it's path to the sea. This is mud-moving on a whole different scale :stupid:, as the mesh reflects the modern era.

I suspect I'll have to make some compromises as we move up river, away from the coast, if only to keep the whole thing manageable :teapot:...

That looks incredible Uncle. I do not know how you do it. I've been enjoying this game for the past 26 years, and every time I boot in to it and load in to one of your sceneries, it is just astounding how drastically CFS2 can be changed.

I do have a few missions done when the AVG left Burma and went to China. The P-40E will be used more in these missions. It will be about 30 missions.

I have been AWOL, I assume you are reworking Talon's missions ,which I have. Will your work be available when finished?

I already put up Defense of Rangoon the end of Last year and it was 28 missions.it has been expanded to 41 missions and it cover until March 1942 but hasn't been uploaded yet.The next set is AVG China and covers until the AVG is disbanded.

Yes they follow Talon's work but have some changes because there is more info available now.The total of missions should be over 70.It will take time because sometimes takes a couple of hours to convert them from the old scenery to the new.

I know it is a tremendous amount of work. I have not been able to spend too much time here as my wife has been dealing with Long Covid debilitating fatigue for 4+ years. She can't drive anymore due to dizzy spells as well, so I do all the driving and I will be 90 in October. I have really enjoyed the work done here through the years. I have contributed little. I did run Rami's missions in the early days to check them out and did some help with Cactus Airforce. Thank you and your son for the nice work.

Progress has slowed whilst I work on Andrew's Fiat G55.

But the intention is for the next part to cover the area Chittagong - Agartala - Dacca & the Ganges mouth.

It will include runways at:

Feni & it's satellite Fazilpur
Comilla & it's satellite Chandia
Agartala & it's satellite Singarbil
The Dacca area strips of Kurmitola & Tezgaon

plus the usual smattering of gsl for points of interest 😉

So after a lot of laying rail tracks, river runs etc., we've finally arrived in the Dacca(Dhaka) area...

North of Dacca are the strips at Tezgaon & Kurmitola

The rail lines head north from Dacca past these to strips, then branches NE to cross the river Meghna at Bhairab, on it's way past Agartala.

By the start of 1944, a small amount of airbase development had taken place at Fenny
1000005889.jpg
but much of the effort was in finishing the satellite fields -

Fazilpur, SE of Fenny

Singarbil, W of Agartala airstrip

North of Dacca, Kurmitola's satellite strip at Tezgaon received an upgrade with a longer runway...

UncleTgt submitted a new resource:

India - East Bengal - Another scenery pack to add to my CBI scenery. This covers East Bengal & Dacca

India East Bengal Scenery for CFS2 by UncleTgt

View attachment 190636

This is a reworking of the stock sceneries for the East of Bengal state of India. This is the latest in a series of scenery releases, to expand & build on this area to cover more of the CBI theatre of operations. It coninues the coastline North from Chittagong, then models the main channel of the Ganges river mouth. It adds the Meghna river & lower Ganges as far N & W as the confluence with the Bramhaputra...
