Hopefully, my troubleshooting will be of some help..

Ok good, at least I know your panel looks correct without the lights activated.

PS. Actually, the light switches on my panel don't work at all.. I have to use the keyboard..
Same here Pam. I did go into FSPanel Studio and replace all the missing gauges, so my panel is full.

Hi folks, I had the same issue when bringing the old Lavigne-Banting-Young Falcon 50 up to speed for FSX. The trick is to assign a bitmap to the [Vcockpitxx] sections. I did a quicky by copying the plain woodgrain portion of the panel2.bmp and created a 400x400 bitmap from it. I'm not sure if a larger bitmap will work with "size_mm=400" or if "pixel_size=1024" is what it uses.
The lights are on with no other changes other than changing to default FSX gauges ...Don

[Vcockpit01]
file=VC1test.bmp
Background_color=0,0,0
size_mm=400
visible=1
pixel_size=1024
texture=$P1

You da man Don. I did a similar test, but using a different texture just for grins. I labeled the textures. . . . .panel_left, panel_right, panel_center and panel_simicons. They are all 400x400 mainly because I wanted to see if the sim would simply resize wherever necessary. With the exception of the lower panel that has the simicons on it, it appears that it did. Now it's just a matter of tweaking the panel bitmaps a bit.

Just goes to show that somewhere in the sim world and more specifically, here in the SOH forums, someone has the answer to just about anything you can think of. Well done Don!!

One other note: These bitmaps need to reside in the panel folder, not in the individual texture folders. . . .I tried that and it didn't work. . . .I had to move the textures to the panel folder before the sim would find them.:salute:

Could one of you please post the corrected panels and gauges? Those look great! :icon_lol:

Thank you,

Walter

Things move slow at my house Walter so I may not even finalize any of this for a few more days. This is all a WIP right now and I haven't even settled on what texture I'll use for the panel. I might get it together over the weekend, but not before that.

I don't know how to post my individual VC bitmaps without losing definition, so if somebody will give me a quick guide I'll post what I have....Don

Here is my completed VC with shading!.

Cool to see the panel taking shape... congrads to all who have the talent to do this kind of work. I'm looking to try out the Cessna 195 myself.

Gods what a beautiful bird that is..
Guess all we need now is some talented paintbrush artists ::evil grin::

That's a dang nice plane Mike. I've always wanted to see one for FSX myself. Repaints, if I only had the drive. Great work everyone on getting it ported into FSX!

Would you dare to share the bitmap(s) here?
Why not? I just dunno how to add them to a post without them getting resized and lose definition.

Everything that I share with the community is free anyhow. Gimme time to make sure everything works as it should and I'll create an upload for the whole shebang. If you guys want it...Don

Thanks Don,
You can add it as an attachment (zipped up) if it comes to under a meg I think.
When creating a post scroll down until you see the attachments menu.

Is the updated version ready for FSX?
All I've been working on is the 2D and VC panels.
If the rest of the folks that have been working on an update, want what I have, to incorporate into a complete update package, they can PM me and I'll send them everything I have to date.

Meanwhile I'm getting an FSX panel only upgrade ready to upload. Probably here, avsim, and flightsim.

Concentrating on the inside, I haven't even looked at what work/changes have been noted so far for the exterior. When I'm happy with the inside, I'll see if I can help with the outside.
The "Lights On" texture changing colors has eluded me in the past, so, any ideas there would help me.
I probably missed it, if one of the folks has already found a solution...Don
