Cessna U206G Soloy Turbine Pac for FSX and P3D released

I was able to start the engine by pressing shift+f4 for mixture rich before starting... the lovely FS bug from a long time ago hehe.

A few bug reports.

1) No lubber line on the HSI (hard to tell what your heading is)... here's an example of HSI diagram, lubber line is usually white.

2) Turn coordinator is backwards... here in a right bank, the airplane should be tilted to the right.

3) No glide path indication during a RNAV (GPS) approach with LPV (WAAS) minimums. I did engage APR mode and the autopilot flew it down so I'm thinking just the indication is missing - maybe some xml code?

4) On HDG mode, on autopilot, the aircraft heading bug is stuck at 360. I can't change my heading.

5) The altitude select will get stuck and I can only change it by 1000's of feet.

Hi guys

I am getting 2 error message when I try to load this bird:

1. Could not load gauges/sc_sp1.dll
2. Config file not found: Prepar3D\gauges\U206G_sound.ini

P3D then crashes to desktop.

All other aircraft work fine. Am using P3D 3.3 on Windows 10.

Any help greatly appreciated.

John

Thomas, thanks very much for this Soloy 206. Just did a water landing and takeoff as well as land to and ldg with the Amphib .... Stunning work ... flies like a dream ! Mike :ernaehrung004:

Have to agree with everyone's pleasure! It's a solid flyer, lots of fun, and the amphib is a welcome sight in the hangar.
Thanks so much.
Cheers
Larry

Thank you very much!

I'm having trouble manually starting. Read over manual

I'm in P3d 3.4 - would it matter if my default flight has engine on?

It works with ctrl+e ok though!

I havent this problem in P3D3.4. It starts ok from cold and dark (default flight as save with Maule).
Maybe You have mixture lever off ?

Just installed this beauty, cold and dark start and t/off. All working perfectly - and certainly sounds like a turbine!
Many thanks for delivering on the promise of that first post here back in June 2014, Thomas. This is truly a wonderful gift. :ernaehrung004:

Unfortunately I still could not celebrate her so far but downloaded her. Her stunning real looking exterior enhances each screenshot. Can't wait to get her in the air, but just had trouble with my flightsim....
Anyway, Thomas, this is absolutely fantastic work! It should be each users duty to say thank you for this excellent FREEWARE...

Hey Ryan, et al
You probably already have a solution to this as you know about it from before, but what I found worked for me (now this is in FSX - this might work in P3D, not sure) is to use a default aircraft as your default start up scenario, and MAKE SURE that the fuel selector is set to BOTH before you save the flight. When I go to save a new default, I'll rotate the fuel selector through all positions then set it to BOTH (you do not want to use an aircraft that has only Left or Right as a default as it too can cause issues) just to make sure the fuel selection in FSX has been initialized. Then save your flight as default. Then if you load an aircraft for your next flight (even if you don't actually load the sim fully with the default aircraft, i.e. you choose your a/c for the upcoming flight in the Welcome screen) your fuel will be on. If you load an aircraft for your upcoming flight that does have a fuel selector switch, simply exercise it once before engine start and you should be good to go, although that step isn't strictly necessary.

If your last flight was with an aircraft with only a L or R fuel selector position, then when you load FSX for your next flight, I'd let the default aircraft fully load before you switch to the aircraft you want for the current flight. The stock 206 is one of those with a L or R only position (IRL anyway), so if the Soloy machine is the same way, then fully load your default flight/aircraft before switching aircraft for your current flight.

The problem with the L/R positions only, is FSX only sees the last given fuel selector position. So even if you shut FSX down and then reload with an aircraft that doesn't have fuel selector positions (i.e. the XP Lear), you'll only be running on whatever tank was selected in the previous flight (sounds dumb, and it is, but it is that FSX bug you were talking about). I would end up running that tank dry then BOTH engines would quit until I figured out what was going on. Following the above will alleviate that problem.

Anyway, you probably already know all this but hopefully this all makes sense and that it helps those who have run into a problem with engines not starting or quitting in midair for no apparent reason.

Here's a small gauge that should take care of any mixture issues in the C206 (or any other aircraft with 1 to 4 engines). Simply add the line from the .txt file to the end of the [VCockpit01] secion of the panel.cfg.

Ryan, great findings. To

1. I just check it out in my model - what should I say - mea culpa - I simply forgot this important little piece of part when modelling.
Will be fixed!

2. known and on my current patch list

3 + 4. This is a bit curious for me. Glide path display is there and working well with standard gauges, also in combination of "standard" freeware GNS 530/430 - I have no sdk from F1 to implement IFR with their big improvements in direction of LPV/RNAV or any other things corresponding with my Benix/King KI525 (I only got sdk for the switches for GTNs). I am really sorry, but I have no idea without special informations to solve it. Keep in mind I am a freeware man, this is my first FSX/P3D airplane.

Thomas

Yeah thanks, I'm not sure why the GTN won't give a glide slope. Maybe Bert Pieke would know.

Don't worry about it, thanks for the plane!

Any idea about the HDG mode? Using the AP I cannot change heading from due North.

Bjorn, where do I put the xml file?

Bjoern, great - I will use it in my patch. Thank you very much!! :applause:

Ryan, I don´t know at the moment where the problems lies. But I will do some testing later.

Ce_Zeta: this is a wellknown freeware FS9 2D Gauge. Should be easy to fix. A question - is this gauge running in Steam?

Thomas
Yes, Thomas, I am running FSX:SE. Strangely, this evening I saw the same problem in Don Kuhn's Garmins. I will check it again.

Reverse

Well, I didn't find any note on reverse in the manual.
Does "reverse" work in this plane?

Dieter

Dieter, real Mark 1 has no reverse thrust. But it is in manual, I am quite sure.

Loving this new bird!!! I wonder why I have to turn on cockpit lights in P3D to light up the screens brightly on the GPS units though? Is that a small bug?

Also did this (fictional) repaint for it. just looks like the man in the gray flannel suit to me...

Great - would be nice to my coastal flights in South Africa, West Coast America, Australia or NZZ.

Just use your mouse wheel on the GPS unit(s) on/off button to add brightness.
