Check This Out!

Interesting.....I am getting no animation when using Shift+E+3 other that the canopy opening and closing. Weapons switch works. No kneeling or weapons bay door operation. I was using both spot and locked spot view.

I posted in this forum to help address GE’s question, assuming he was using FSX. I’m using only P3Dv4.5, where the kneeling works. Perhaps it works differently in the FSX model. Apologies if my post added confusion.

I guess reply with quote ain't happenin'?? Thanks, Butch! My readme for FSX also states Shift+e+3 for weapons bay door. I wasn't really expecting the kneeling.

Version 2 has been posted on Rob's website. I haven't had time to check it out. . .downloaded though and will try it out this evening if I have time. Thanks Rob!!:applause:

Ever since the announcement of FS2020, I've been debating on uninstalling FSX. My computer is REALLY old, my FSX install sometimes just freezes up while running, and I have too much add-on stuff installed to make a re-install worthwhile. I don't really fire up FSX that much anymore (maybe twice a month) as a consequence. As such, I feel that I should just wait until FS2020 is released and then buy a new computer that will be able to run it with relative ease.
However, every now and then a new add-on is released that keeps me from deleting it - Rob's Banshee is an example of that. What an absolutely stunning release! :applause::encouragement:

The difference for me is now...Shift+e+2 opens the weapons door and Shift+e+3 kneels the aircraft! Now if I could just get the engine exhaust blueing effect that P3D has, I'd be in Banshee heaven! :applause:

Possibly a PBR texturing effect not possible in FSX? Just a guess!

I didn't know about SHIFT+2. Pretty slick. Every time I do the shift +3 I think "take a bow Banshee". :biggrin-new:

Wonder what it animates that way? In P3D V3 (32 bit) I won't see the exhaust effect either.

Shift+e+3, even though the readme says "opens weapons bay door", actually is used to kneel and raise the aircraft from kneeling position.:encouragement:

Some more repaints for Jankees

Here are some other paint suggestions for that F2H Knowing you, you're probably already on it. :biggrin-new:

Good morning all,

With Rob's Banshee, whom I thank for his work, I see in virtual cockpit view, engines running, a tremor of the device as soon as I brake or on park brakes!
How to remove this tremor?
Thanks for your help.

I too experience the shimmy and shake with engines running and in cockpit view. Maybe this some added "realism"?

Edit: In cockpit view and parking brake is set I see the shimmy effect. When I release parking brake, the shimmy stops.

In spot view no shimmy/shake is noticeable with parking brake set.

The shimmy is not seen in P3D_V4.4 so chalk it up to an FSX oddity. The way I correct little insignificant things like this is to ask myself these questions:
Does it keep me from taxiing to the EOR or to my parking spot?
Does it keep me from taking off or landing?
Does it otherwise infringe on my enjoyment of the airplane itself?

Since all those can be answered NO. . .I move on and go fly this excellent airplane.

Yep, same here! Release the brake and haul arse!

Mr Ed,

1. I was just sharing my experience with the other gent that has same issue. I am using P3D V3.4 not FSX -
2. I can live with it
3. I could just delete it and move on as well.
4. So, If I see some issue(s) then I am to remain silent?
5. Is is a nice freeware airplane and I didn't say otherwise.
6. Have a blessed day Mr Ed.

Re: the shimmy when the parking brake is engaged try this...

change toe_brakes_scale = 1.7 //Brake scalar to toe_brakes_scale = 1.0 //Brake scalar then re-start sim.

For those who want to tweak the landing gear (tire) distance and stance on the runway use these numbers:

static_pitch = -1.4
static_cg_height= 4.3

point.0= 1, 14.610, 0.000, -3.95,......
point.1= 1, -0.720, -7.490, -4.35,.....
point.2= 1, -0.720, 7.490, -4.35,.....

I tried this:

toe_brakes_scale = 1.0 //Brake scalar

And it still shakes. Did I change that entry correctly?
