Comments on the Freeware Gems Thread

yes there is another nice one that just popped up at flightsim.com today too.

Bill Lyons ' Apache

I somehow missed this one, thanks to Sid for pickig it up.
The immersion is the thing in the Lyons world, there are better models and more poly's but as you pan around the VC in this one, you catch a movement in the corner of your eye.
It is the dog's tail wagging.
He's in the back.
The dog does what my dog does, too: tips its head on one side and wags.

Bill's Tripacer has a CD player masquerading as a radio.
I have flown VFR for hours in it, listening to music I would never otherwise play.

It's a great world, makes you want to do stuff like this:

Aargh Apache not Archer - edited the title, thanks Paul.
Carenado's Archer was open on the second monitor, so brain fart...
Actually now you mention it, I'm sure Piper's stupid naming conventions had more than a bit to do with the downfall of the brand.
E.g. a Piper PA-28 could be a:
PA-28R-300 Pillan
PA-28R Arrow
PA-28-235 Cherokee/Dakota
PA-28 Warrior
PA-28-140 Cherokee
PA-28 Cherokee

I never know my Aztec from my Seminole...

So much stuff to look at - new, old...
Speaking of Eduardo Fadul, his Mirage V, IAI Kfir C2/C7 packages are impressive.
So took a loaded Kfir up for a spin.
Such a mean machine, such a beautiful sky, couldn't decide which to keep, so kept both!

Great model, wonderful thread - Eduardo's MiG 29 mentioned too, is also great.
I couldn't buy the Iris MiG for various reasons so was delighted with this one.

Small, impeccably modelled grass glider fields set in wonderfully done photo-real terrain. Truly a "Must" for the light-GA flyer!
Can't tear myself away..LKMI is my default GA airport now.
Only one thing, with the change of season, some snow is appearing, but all the gliders disappear!
So I did a little traffic file to bring this and LKSU to life.

Falcon 50

I've never had this installed, thanks to the FWG thread for picking up on it.
Brilliant, hard to believe it's an FS2002 model.
