Common Textures packs for 2002 and 2004

Hi everyone, those 'common texture packs' I am writing about are needed for classic sceneries in FS2002 and 2004. They had been offered by flightsim com. which is offline unfortunately.
Also there was a an 'EZ-Object Library and Needed Scenery files Installer' on the road that seems to have disappeared as well.
Allthough I had been searching a while, no much luck yet. Pse read on

I am talking about these libraries:

ASD Textures
ASDv2 Textures
VOD Scenery files and Textures
Airport
Abacus
Nova Textures
Nova Gold Textures
Gerrish's Trees
TreesV3

The following libraries I have found up to now:
Nova Gold Textures
ASDv2
TreesV3

Also I wished to publish all available "common textures" in a pack once having them all obtained ...

Any help/hint or even available libraries are welcome .. thanks in advance

cheers Jochen

Using the word "publish" can sound kind of scary.

Are you talking about uploading a full set here?
Also, be aware that a lot of those sets are pretty old and time marches on.
There's better stuff out there, still, and you may need to contact the original authors.

Not trying to say it's a bad idea, it's just going to be complicated. :wiggle:

What Bob said.

You could try looking at Simviation, a good few of those packs are there, although you'll probably have to ferret around a lot.

Thx Andy when u are so certain, get me working links pse

Gentlemen, thx for your replies, 1 appreciate it. I looked for weeks and everywhere be4 I posted ...

dead links at simviation and others ... dead links since ages, and so on - just nothing. Those I have recovered originate from old HDDs and memory DvDs of mine. Actually someone must still have it stored somewhere - that's what I am hoping.

am still talking about classic sceneries which work fine in FS9 - providing some common textures..
Just remember what happened in the old days beween 1998 and 2006: FS98 up to FSX there had been written tons of nice freeware sceneries and aircraft of all sorts and qualities... some of them really nice - for instance Suisse 2004, a Series of amazing alpine sceneries and altiports thinking of their age.
emailed some authors, most emails bounced or didnt respond - minus one: 'Dirk Fassbender' - he crerated that AS Puma, Burj al arab and much more ... a great fellow who is not active any more to create something for sims..

Anyhow, hopefully will get a positive answer from some veteran fellows ..

cheers Jochen

Thanks wolfebee. Looks like the "Must have" published once on the Flightsim.com front page. So why not creating such a folder or sub-folder here? Unfortunately after a short time nobody will remember of your posts and where to search. Just an idea ...

It's so hard to tell these days what Texture Sets you need for Add On Scenery these days, plus the conundrum when you 'double up' and have too many loaded, which messes up the Scenery.

Case in point are the Scenery by Sidney Schwartz that covered Canada & Alaska; I could never figure out what Scenery Objects I needed for his stuff, or where to get them.

Spot on, Leuen ! Hello and thx all together - that were the ones I was looking for in the first place - once we have them near all together i will pack them and publish into resources ...

Thx to the hints of wolfebee, found a couple of "EZ" libraries as well, which I would add to that upcoming 'common texture ' pack.

Still missing/ not found
VOD Scenery files and Textures
Airport textures
Abacus scenery textures

We know its hard to find them,
bear in mind the more fellows are interested and searching the greater the chances to find them

Let me try to be crystal clear here - you cannot upload (publish) any of those files here without the permission of the copyright holders who created those files in the first place.

Hello Viper, i saw those SIDNEY SCHWARZ FILES during my deep diving in those sim-sites somewhere, but thought didnt need them for my alpine sceneries.
bloody hell, I should have realized your post earlier - but will try to refind them or at least giving a hint... be patient pse
cheers Jochen

you cannot upload
Flightsim.com's "Must Have* was s simple list with links as wolfebee did above. It isn't necessary do have more.We are speaking here about files which are more than twenty years old and at least three or four FS generations behind. Of course, for those using almost newest scenery releases it might not be of great interest and need.

The age of the files is irrelevant - the OP again talked about "wrapping" the files and "publishing" them, which is not possible without the creators' permission.

apologies @Jochen if the wayback machine links appeared non-functioning, as the site is apparently, of late, slow to load, but the previously mentioned archived page of Airport for Windows has the relevant airport v2.6 texture pack

and the airport v2.02 texture pack https://simviation.com/1/search?submit=1&keywords=txtur202.zip

and Rafael Garcia Sanchez's archived site https://web.archive.org/web/20001116205900/fly.to/scenery , https://web.archive.org/web/20010306034003/http://flightsimmers.net/scenery/down.htm on the wayback machine, albeit none of the files have been archived, but useful if you wish to have the pertinent file names

you may also potentially find what you are looking for right here at https://www.sim-outhouse.org/freeflight/Design.html if not also at https://simviation.com/1/browse-Scenery+Design-99-0 and https://simviation.com/1/browse-Scenery+Design+Objects-100-0

on another note, because web archive is, and has been, so useful, especially for those still using FS2004 as their primary sim, do consider a donation https://archive.org/donate , if at all possible to keep the site afloat, especially the wayback machine...just my 2-cents on the matter

cheers!

Why don't create simply a sticky thread with all wolfebee's posts? Wouldn't be that complicated. OMG!
