CTD's on the increase

SOH-CM-2023
Recently while starting FS2024 I've had up to 2 CTD's before being able to fly. Just now I've had 3 CTD's and have yet been able to fly. Really frustrating!
Anyone else experiencing this?

Check your Community folder. About every CTD I have is due to something in there MSFS 2024 doesn't like.

Cazzie, thanks so much for your tip about CTDs. Experience shared was much appreciated.

I removed the one plane that had been giving me other problems. The FlyingIron BF109. Now started the sim and flew a 10 min flight without a CTD.

It was interesting how the CTDs with the BF109 began while loading MS2024, then after restarting the sim loading would proceed past the point of the first CTD then halt a ways further. This bizzare pattern continued until the sim allowed flying but then CTDd. Eventually the sim became unflyable.

BTW, Cazzie, I think we share other interests: Astronomy, Photography and airport design. These hobbies have been great fun. Ground an 8 inch mirror and built a domed observatory for example.

Thanks again. It's nice to Sim w/o the crashes.

After removing suspect entries from the Community folder, the Sim started without a CTD and was fixed.

Wrong! Maybe a fluke.

It seems another unique problem exists with my FS setup.

After some testing it seems turning off the PC is part of the problem. The Sim, from flight to flight, retains in memory what it loads when started. Turning off the PC loses that information, and must be reloaded when the Sim is started again. In my case, with an empty Community folder, a CTD occurs once somewhere between Sim initial start and after getting a screen showing the Free Flight option which I use most. The Sim must be restarted and will not CTD. Rerunning the Sim seems to fix the problem allowing successful flights as long as the PC remains on.

Maybe not a problem for anyone else but shows the fragility of the Sim to being corrupted. What irks me is that I have several unique Sim problems that updates never correct.

My CTD problem remains. Total fresh install, no extra downloads, empty Community folder. Sim loads and flies well anywhere, using any aircraft in the default download. I have the store bought Premiem Deluxe version, downloadable either thruogh X-Box or the MS Store app. After flying, and exiting sim, even if I don't shutdown, or put to sleep my PC, I can try to load the next day. CTD occurs within 15 seconds of loading screen start. The ONLY way to start the sim is to uninstall, restart PC, reinstall. I get one session, period. The only thing I have not tried is to erase my C drive.
