curious was the cat.....

I would have said P-61 but after having seen the Avenger and Fury at Hahnweide, I´m not so sure. The Avenger was a darn impressive bird, and the Fury (It was a Reno modified bird, with restored external) was amazing in high speed 30ft altitude passes!

P-61, unquestionably. So distinctively different from the main run of what's on offer. Thanks for asking.

1+ for teh widow.
i guess it is a challenge to do , if you wish to implement the "avionics" and all other systems. plus, as Mathias said: twin fighters for teh win!

I will say from experience that the VC for the P-61 is going to be a *itch... there is so much to see in that front cabin and crowded.

Right now I just have a cabin, instrument panel sans instruments and yoke... the easy stuff LOL.

Why on earth are you all pining for a P-61?!
Cause i love them american twins, Mitchells, Havocs, Marauders Lightnings, Tigercats...

and this thing - i have seen a photo of a stripped down Widow Fuselage in a Plane mag some time ago... is just an awesome fighter.

Maybe a bit heavy? dunno. but absolutely Kick ass Technology and Style. Brute force.

Sea Fury! As for a real aircraft one engine is sufficient and the Avanger looks like a pregnant dust-bin!

Cheers,
Huuub

The widow is not just another twin though is it, a really special design with LOTs of potential goodies to model thanks to its night work.

I would love to see one in FSX

Curtis also put out a twin; well,, two twins, same plane, but never made it past prototype. One crashed during a race, i dont remember what happened to the other one.. a few months ago, i was asked to do the fDE for it and i was a whole lot less knowledgeable than i am now, but it came out to be one very fast maneuverable fun plane.. keep your eyes peeled. i have it on good word it's going to be released.. :)..

Oh yeah.. my personal vote is the P-61. Maybe the cockpit IS a *itch, but you should try making it fly perfectly ::lol:; Sadly, it's only a dream for me as well. the modeling as always is up to the modeler, and i'm happy if the darned thing just has wings..

the widow could be viewded as the counterpart to the A-26. It's as big as a B-25, not quite as fast as a mosquito, hyped out with special radar for flying night missions, and more than enough fire power to get the job done..
truth told, the P-61 is anything except a beautiful airplane. it's rugged, masculine even, brutish in it's lines and perhaps the scariest plane of world war two, because it always flew at night and pounced from above and behind.. Most germans who met one never knew what hit em.
It's a huge plane, but maneuvers like a flippin ballerina. I can only speculate where they came up with the idea for her, but she is very unique, and in my book, one of the truly great planes of world war two.. Even if she WAS a bit more ninja than Samurai :D
