• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

'Dark' theme available?

Yup SOH now has built in dark theme. If you have the Stylus extension installed you can uninstall it and just use SOH Dark (Based on SOH from 2001).

No wide version of dark theme yet so if you are using the wide version you can stick with the Stylus extension.

Edit.

Wide version added. It was just one line to be edited.

It has been a few days has anyone found any odd things with the dark mode? Like small areas/boxes that are still bright or text that is hard to read?

SOH Wide for me, dark background is easier on my eyes, because I keep my PC area fairly dark and white blinds me.

Hey I'm digging the earth tones and olive drab look!

I'm with both of you. I use dark mode on everything I can. So much easier on the eyes.

My wife has different eye problems than me, and wants the room as bright as possible. We don't spend much time in the same room together. (Not sure if that's a good thing or not, hehe.)

I think I like this olive drab / zinc chromate look better - because it's somehow easier on my thrashed eyeballs.
Kids - always wear proper UV protective sunglasses when you're outside during the daylight hours...don't lapse on that. Just wear them and thank me when you're old and unbothered by white (or even off-white) backgrounds
Thanks for working on this theme stuff, Allen - it's appreciated
