Denarq D18S Twin Beech Modification

Twice43

SOH-CM-2025
I have been looking at this in .to & there appears to be a bit of complexity in getting it fully loaded into MSFS2024.
Is anyone using the mod. & if so, is the outcome noticable & is it worth the installation fiddles?

If I don’t make any mistakes, there is a specific v2.0.1a version for MSF2024 of this mod on FS.to .
Did you download it?

Yes, v2.0.1a is for MSFS2024, and v1.5.3a is for MSFS2020.

I use MSFS2024, so I have v2.0.1a - definitely worth installing if you like the Beech.

Will be doing that later today.
Currently digesting the info & what you need to do to install the msfs24 version, per the D18S .to listing.

Installed it in MSFS2024 & had a couple of short test flights so far.
Can notice some differences, namely it feels 'crisper' in the air, engine sounds are more realistic, & it has encouraged me to pay much closer attention to the engine & oil instruments. I am sure there are other things going on 'under the hood'.
Definetly worth installing.

The change to the default fuel boost pump sound alone was reason enough to install it.
I've had 2 Denarq flights where one of the engines loses oil pressure after about 30 minutes of flying despite running conservative RPM & Manifold settings. Any idea of what could be causing it?
(1) Does the aircraft have persistent states?, ie, if I fly a particular livery & lose an engine, in the next flight will that engine issue carry over?
(2) Is there a way to 'reset' a damaged engine to 100% ok again?
(3) Is there a set of pre flight settings/checklists, or a 'state of the aircraft', that I can refer to before take off ?

It's been a while since I've flown it - I buy new aircraft faster than I can fly them! However, this should be of assistance:

1- Yes this aircraft has persistet variables stored in a file state.cfg,
2- Removing it reset the wear & tear
3- Read the doc it's the first thing to do (link of Paul)

I installed the mod before I read this. I have found location of the state.cfg file. It is dated with my install date.
Do I just keep it like it is? I didn't delete this file before I installed this mod. I am guessing it overwrote the older one but then
why would it say to delete the original one?

I went through the 21? page manual & I guess having a bit of ADHD, my ability to absorb it all is somewhat limited.
It is reasonaby technical & a lot of work has gone into it.
Having fried a couple of engines I pulled the mod aside & flew standard, without being glued to the gauges.
Once I have more time to assimilate the manual, I'll put it back in.
But, in the meantime - I think the sounds in the mod are terrific & a notable improvement over the stock set.
So, I wonder if there is a way to replace the standard sound file with a copy of the sound file out of the Demarq mod ? [Is it as simple as swapping one Sound file for another, or is the Sound scattered across several files?]

I would do exactly what the instructions say.

From what I have gleaned from internet

What state.cfg Does

Stores Aircraft States: It records specific variable values like fuel levels, payload weights, active radio frequencies, and equipment positions (such as oxygen pressure, covers, or radar modes).

It allows certain add-on planes and default aircraft to remember their configuration across game sessions.

The simulator often updates or generates this file inside your local user data directories (LocalCache\SimObjects\Airplanes) depending on how a flight ends and saves.

So I guess it is no bit woop that I did not remove the first state.cfg before installing the mod

I did ask the dev this question and still awaiting his answer. (Flightsim.to)

If you used the base plane and decided to install the mod, it is better to delete the state.cfg file before using the "new plane" so that the scripts can initialize all variables and their values correctly.

Another important point: do not use the cross-shaped icon at the top right of the simulator interface or task manager to cancel MSFS, but :
- finish the flight on the hangar/taxiway,
- stop the elements normally and
- via the interface return to the home screen
... because otherwise MSFS will not be able to save correctly the various persistent variables !
