Ian: weren't they the first to land in Milford Sound?
They were the first airliners that landed at Milford in the mid 1950s , but to my knowledge was a couple pioneering flights pre WWII using Tiger Moths or similar type but the Rapide opened up the region , many aircraft have been lost notably a DH Dragonfly that was lost without a trace in 1962 and search gos on today , the area has got to be known as New Zealand's 'Bermuda Triangle' .

Following JanKees brilliant paints into ORBX NZSI , here is the real deal - 1962 , Milford Sound - New Zealand from the book published by the
NZ aviation historian Richard Waugh , superb selection .
