I see, that's all right then, you are really much older, of course. The good old days.......:ernae:..........everybody takes everything so serious these days. Anyway, the Tomcat progresses to public release in the not too distant future.

The sreens will look absolute mind blowing impressive as one shadows the up coming Nimitz mind a couple off minder 14s in the shadows :engel016:
 
I do not have an exact release date yet... I think the visual and flight models are good enough for release. On the other hand, the VC is graphically complete and working - but has several minor bugs. I could release it as is (as it is functional) but I prefer to try to fix the minor bugs too. Also, FSX checklist needs to be written and tested and this takes more time than what most people think.

My plan was to pack a RC build this weekend, and then make a public release in a week or so - but at present I am not sure I can make it.
 
In your own time ... your own , effort and energy so far is above any limit , the scale and detail .. applaud just brilliant ! .
 
Man Dino you killed it dude. Wow. Those pics are amazing and I for one am checking this thread everyday to read of the release. One hell of a job you did on this Cat. Bravo to you sir.:icon29:
 
Awesome bird Dino. I can't wait to fly it. Love the paint scheme by Banana Bob as well. Anyone who questions the work done by these freeware authors, really should put some time into developing a plane sometime. It's truely a love for the hobby these guys show, as the hours to do one of these projects is enormous. I salute you gentleman for your efforts.

thanks a lot again for the appreciation. The Tomcat is ready...I just need make a final check, pack the files and do the (electronic) paperwork... I plan to release it in 24/48 hours from now. The cockpit is still buggy but it is functional.

@ghopper (and in general to freeware critics and defenders)

Thanks for the appreciation, but I am very open to criticism and comments, even if they are negative. "Being freeware", in my opinion,should not automatically mean that criticism is forbidden. Provided that criticism is constructive and polite, of course, and based on actual facts.

"Criticism and freeware" is an interesting debate...but basically my point of view is: call (recreational) flight simulation for what it is: a VIDEOGAME. Correct words put a lot of things into the right perspective. :mixedsmi:
 
HI Dino - your standards are highter than a lot of payware products I have bought lately. I really apprechiate your dedication and generousity :applause::applause:

Now we,re talking ! Someone got his graphics tuned up for the better..Much clearer screenshots. Wily it sure looks like you enjoy taking shots and reposting them for our pleasure,so for that reason, I would recommend you joining screenshotworld.com.It a very good school on learning how to take and how not to take screenshots, a bit of editing skills didnt kill anyone either. Position of the subject and the background is crucial.Dont use water as background unless it,s a very beautiful spot and has more contrast with the subject.Otherwise image it,s flat, and has no depth.Choose best angles for the aircraft using slew motion,spin it to get the best lighting or shadows.Best against a nice sky not ground or water.Dont use scattered crippy looking clouds either.Make sure you have a nice composition in the end but have the aircraft as the main focus.Complet image of the aircraft should never touch the edge of the shot,..ever ! . Save files as BMP first,best quality.Only after cropping ,editing ,and resizing save it as hi-quality jpeg.(less quality loss). Use photoshop not the default vista image editor.

Thanks yago9 :guinness::icon29:, but with the release to the public of version 1.0 of the Tomcat, I'm sure there will be a grand supply of screenshots from ever so many people. I'm looking forward to this release. I can now attend some projects.

As you have noticed, I assume, your paint of the TU-95 Bear is good in DX9. I corrected the wheel transparency problem in DX9.

It has a minor texture transparency problem in DX10 which I may solve.

Fine ,it wasnt intended for FSX so I dont know ,never tried it on.
