Dino's T-45C version 2.00 (released)

This an outstanding bird and fun to fly and puts a lot of payware add ons to shame well done Dino.

:medals:

Great job, as always Dino. Love the new HUD/DEP fxns. Also, you can arm the seat now. That was one of those little no big deal things that bugged me in the previous T-45 versions.

I am so frustrated reading these threads. After a re-download I still can't get the throttle to work. This jet just sets there and Idols.

This is an amazing addon - definitely one of the best freeware jets (and rivals many payware!) out there!

Thanks Dino...cant even imagine how good the next F-14 will be.

:applause:

Best ever Dino, Tacan works beautiful, love the gear, have to be a little more gentle on the carrier landings. just a dam good plane. Thanks

....and the looks are fantastic.
Not only the looks but Serge "Fsxnavypilot" Lsa did an excellent job on the sound package. The external sounds in particular are very close to how I remember the sound of the RAF Hawk's when I spent many hours listening to them in the 80's. In fact I may even alias the sound pack to my Rick Piper/Skysim FSX Hawk.

Woot!
In a word; Superb!
Like others, I have payware that don't look/work this good.
Thank you, Dino!...Don

If anyone still uses the A2A/Shockwave 3D lights here are my settings for the T-45C.

In the aircraft.cfg file replace the existing [lights] section with:

[lights]
//Types: 1=beacon, 2=strobe, 3=navigation, 4=cockpit, 5=landing
light.0 = 3, -0.3, -15.65, -0.5, fx_shockwave_navred //fx_navred
light.1 = 3, -0.3, 15.65, -0.5, fx_shockwave_navgre //fx_navgre
light.2 = 3, -13.5, 0.80, 1.10, fx_navwhi
light.3 = 2, 3.60, 0.00, 3.90, fx_shockwave_strobe //fx_strobe_t45
light.4 = 1, 1.1, 0.00, 3.7, fx_shockwave_beaconh_lowl //fx_beacon_t45
light.5 = 1, 8.55, 0.00, -2.20, fx_shockwave_beaconb_lowl //fx_beacon_t45
light.7 = 10, 13.2, 0.0, 1.6, fx_t45_vclight
light.8 = 10, 7.5, 0.0, 3.5, fx_t45_vclight
light.9 = 5, 16.00, 0.20, -2.90, fx_shockwave_landing_light_narrow

Then add the following to the [Vcockpit02] section of the panel.cfg file:
gauge01=shockwave_lights!SW Lights_gear, 1,1,1,1 //shockwave light

Note: This line usually goes in the [Vcockpit01] section but the T-45C doesn't appear to have one and it works fine here.

Of course you should make a back-up of the original files first in case you don't like my settings.

Hi!
This is really a amazing model!

Just one dummy question but I didn't find into the documentation how "Tacan on moving carrier" works and what are the different carrier frequencies available?

Regards,
Sylvain

Carrier ILS/TCN frequencies:

1. Default Acceleration carrier: 111.00 MHz or TACAN channel 47X
2. Javier's Nimitz carrier: 112.00 MHz or TACAN channel 57X
3. Clemenceau Carrier: 113.00 MHz or TACAN channel 77X

You should get immediately the distance to the carrier in nmiles (followed by the letters 'TCN'), the heading marker showing the direction to the carrier and the steering arrow which acts as a CDI. The ILS needles will show up if you are in range and at a certain angle in front of the antenna. You can turn off the steering arrow and the ILS needles from the HUD 2d control panel. I agree that the specifics of these indicators, especially the steering arrow, need a more detailed explanation. You may want to tighten up the cable_force_adjust for the Clemenceau to let's say 1.5 although it will still trap safely at the default value.

Just downloaded the released 2.01 version.

Took off from Oceana NAB in VA Beach. Did touch and goes at Fentress Air Field , a Naval Auxillary Airfield, in Chesapeak, Va.

Fentress is 10 minutes from house and is where I fly RC off the taxi way....

I can fly the same patterns in my shiny new T-45 in FSX that I see Navy Pilots practicing at Fentress from my back yard.

Can flight simulation get any better?

Thanks for a great add-on!!

I went driving by all that the other day! :icon_lol:

Hi Neutrino,
Thank you for the explanaition! I will try asap!
I'm working on adapting the "customized catapult strenght" for the T45 and I would like to add also LSO voice. This last feature uses TACAN/ILS so I need to be sure that frequencies are the same in both gauges.

Sylvain

Thank you!

All,

thanks a lot for your appreciation and support!
The Goshawk is not yet as good as I wanted it to be...but I have to confess that I am quite happy with the quality level...and it has already been downloaded more than 1000 times in less than 24 hours!

Have fun!

A stunning model just got even better IMHO... Thanks especially to Dino and of course Serge, Jivco, Scott and Neutrino - what a team we're fortunate to have working together turning out quality work :salute:

Thank you :applause:

Is there anyway to lower the stance of the aircraft on the ground?

50373_1277053050.jpg

Well,

I know that my T-45C sits way too high on the ground, no need to post pictures :) ... I've been working on that, but after several attempts (trying to match the animation sequence with the real world stance) this was the only combination that seemed to work fine during landings/takeoffs... then I focused on other things.

It may be necessary to change the animation sequence in the 3d model, although theoretically the animation is correct (maximum extension towards maximum compression)... I'll see what I can do in a future update!
