SOH-CM-2025
Just wanted to let anyone who might be having some problems reinstalling FS9 that I finally have mine finished,at least until another plane or scenery comes out ,that I just must have.
If anyone recalls ,I had tried 6 times to reinstall FS9 and was having all kinds of problems with it dropping files ,both root files like the scenery and effects files and also DLL files.
So a long time ago I had bought another copy of FS9 at Walmart ,so I decieded to try that one.It made all the difference in the world. No more dropped Dll files and I figured out where my root files were going.
That part was my fault for working on the reinstall late at night when I was tired.Since Windows will drop the little slidy thingy back to the bottom of the screen,( I was putting the file I was working on in my downloads folder ,so I'd have an uncluttered place to work ,rather than my backup disk) whenever I slid it to the top or bottom, I'd "catch" a file and drag it somewhere else.
I lost my weather file and checked the files around it by opening them up and sure enough my weather file was at the top of my effects file. The same might happen in reverse if I scrolled down.
So I hope this helps anyone who is having trouble with a big reinstall(I have more planes and scenery and effects than ever) so it's easier than you might think to latch onto a file while moving up or down and drop it into another folder.
The different disks did away with me loseing DLL files.
So after months of working night and day on my FS9 reinstall ,I'am burnt out and am going to leave flight simming for a while to get my interest back.
Thanks all who helped me and I'll actually start flying in a while.Hope this might help others who've had similar problems.

Sounds like a plan. Have a good long stay in other pastures, the crate will be waiting in the hanger when the urge returns.:wavey:
