Dornier Do24 T3 flying boat - Released!

Nine out of ten times when you are thrown back in the air when landing on the water ii is your vertical speed which is too high in combination with the airspeed.
It happens to me now and then , but do it nice and slow and your landing will be perfect.

Kudos!

Hi Folks
Just uploaded the Do24 for Fs9.

There's also some rescue scenery as well uploaded separately.

Cheers

Shessi

A most needed addition! btw... don't forget the He 115! Excellent paint job...
It inspired me to do a little work on the extant panel... I think you might like it...

Cheers guys!

Really like that water Huub, and BTW have you toned down the shine on the Do? I've been flying out of the Cees's Schellingwoude seaplane base scenery, which was used by both the Dutch and German Do24's.

Nice Nav, a light cruiser? Hipper class or?

The water is Bill Lyons's GW3 water (at least that's what I think). I haven't changed anything on the model. It has a nice satin shine. And yes, Schellingwoude is the place to be with this model, Mok at Texel island by Cees is an alternative.
I have one small issue; the wake looks a bit odd. But I have a look at it later.

Where can these GW3 textures be downloaded?

I am equally impressed by the water texture... very realistic!!!
If you have the URL, can you please list it here? Thanks in advance!

Hi Huub,
Hmmm, possibly not FSGW3, I only fly Fs9 as FSGW3 and mine doesn't look that good, so would be interesting to find out if it's someone else's??

Shessi

I have checked but the "water" textures files are definitely from GW3 and all dated 2003.The environment maps are from 2007, due to which I think they might be done by Joao Paz/JazZ Art ( File jzwater.zip at Flightsim.com). The OceanHeightField texture is from February 2004, so definitely not from Joao Paz, but I really don't know the source.

To answer the question from Gaucho_59/Carlos ; Golden Wings 3 should be available at The Old hangar see: http://mainescenery.proboards.com/ )
I'm sorry I can't be more specific, but this is the problem you get when you keep modifying your installs....... :dizzy:

Cheers,
Huub

Thanks for checking Huub,
I'll have a look at my install, I may have changed something in mine......??

Do-24 french navy

Hallo friends,

I tried to repaint the Do-24 in french navy paint.
But encountered a big problem concerning the right rudder.
Perhaps some one can correct this issue or redo a better repaint?
The 2D panel is well progressing due to Gaucho's kind help.

WHAT IS THE BIG PROBLEM YOU ENCOUNTERED?
I might try to correct it if you tell me what the problem is...

Good evening gaucho,

when you compare the jpeg furnished in the zip with what I did the rudder are not showing the paint as they should have. Especially on the right side. Than the inner right rudder side should show any color markings, but on mine there are also the "bleu blanc rouge" which should not be there.
I believe that a complete redo by an expert as you will be fine. Sadly I have no better pic than the jpeg joined in the zip

New Cnt Pts

There is NO rudder so it won't turn - that is the problem. Try these cnt pts I modified. I gave it gear so it can taxi on land (you won't get 'stuck' in the mud). But you can comment out the gear if you're a 'purist' (ie: use 'slew'-ha).
Hans Wuhrmann uploaded a 'fix' at FltSimCom (Name: do24_config.zip: Size: 989 Date: 03-25-2016 . ''FS2004 Update For Dornier Do24 (DO24T3_FSX.ZIP). With this change the Do 24 by Shessi/Erwin Welker water lands, stops and takes off without crashing''). But he forgot the water rudder. I like my cnt pts better. Enjoy.

Thanks Pete,
Yes his environmental water effects are good, I use his one for European water which gives it a much more realistic hue for this area.

Dornier Do-24 dutch version

Hello friends,

can some one give me informations about the instruments used in the dutch Do-24 versions?
For the engine gauges as they used US-engines the gauges should also be american I presume.
But what for the flight instruments? german, metric or used them american gauges for the navigation and
airspeed, altimeter and vsi? The radios have been also furnished by us equipment I believe.
Any advice and information will be welcome.
Yours
Papi
